I think that could be a closing lineup for us.

Jose will be in closing line ups.

Left it up for a while (4 hours) then went back later and read it and decided that nobody would really be interested in reading another of my long posts about something they weren't really interested in. It was my fault...as usual...I'll try to be more on-topic in the future. And you're right, it probably seems a bit weird to many that I have no opinion on Zion...yet.

There're no real point for me.
Herb isn't a point, CJ either but he's the closest to be a point.

Agree, we don't have an actual PG. Which I think doesn't present a real problem, with our current lineup. I just think they want to figure out if they are stuck with Herb just standing at the 3-pt line & occasionally cutting to the hoop. IMO...he is, at best, a net zero on the offensive end in this scenario, especially when you consider the downside of allowing the opposing team to hide/rest their weakest defender by standing him out there with Herb.

I've seen Herb-guarders all the way from CP3, Ja Morant and up to LeBron just hiding or resting out there with Herb. I'm guessing Pels will see what Herb can do as a bit of a Point Guy, with more ball handling and driving to the hoop & scoring or, more likely, kicking it out to an open 3-pt shooter.

If Herb can just come close to being as effective as CJ is at Point Guy...it's a huge advantage to have him there. Bottom line, I just much prefer seeing Herb kick it out to CJ at the 3-pt line...than to see CJ driving and possibly kicking it out to an open Herb at the 3-pt line. If it doesn't work, you can always just send Herb back out there to stand at the 3-pt line. Sorry for the length of this post...I just can't help myself, once I get started.

I have TM3 and Herb in all 3 lineups because they are the difference makers. (besides Zion being healthy)

They can make this team elite and give us the extra firepower like Bridges/ Cam Johnson in Phoenix.

If Jose keeps improving and DD is the real deal then we are legit contenders.

Totally agree & hopefully that's where we're headed. Although CJ still has a coupla more years of + offense, before his - defense overtakes it.

Let’s pretend that at present a collective of CJ, Herb, Ingram, Zion, Jonas are the set starters.

lineups of:
Dyson-CJ-BI-TM3-Zion
CJ or Jose-BI-TM3-LNJ-Jonas or Willy
Kira-Dyson-Herb-Zion-Hayes

would bring ME joy.

I think we’re deep enough to at least have either Zion, BI, CJ on the floor at all times. Maybe just one off the floor, max two but all three shouldn’t be in position for a photo-op like witnessed during summer league.

Potential Deadly Duos:
BI/Zion
Zion/CJ
CJ/BI

Jonas doesn’t need help. He’ll beat up on anybody by himself. Blue Collar Mentally!

I’m curious if Zion can play SF for sustainable minutes. I actually think he can and will log more minutes at the 3 vs the 5.

Herb Jones will never, ever, be the lead ball handler on a team with BI, CJ , and Zion.

He’s the

This a take that lessens your credibility

Pretty sure I've never said about Herb..."He's the very solid C&S 3-pt shooter"

I DO think, it's possible he might handle the ball enough to have 5 assists per game which should be pretty close to the top for this particular Pels team.

BI, CJ and Zion are vastly superior playmakers to Herb. There is no logical explanation to turn two of them into C&S guys when they are top 20, top 35 players, respectively. Herb is a role player. A star role player. An incredibly important role player, but a role player nonetheless. His role on offense is destined to be a C&S guy

A role player at one end of the floor but an absolute stud at the other end…which is where our offensive studs lack…

Agreed. EP. I am not diminishing his value. DM suggests BI turn into a C&S guy so Herb can be the point on offense?

As stated, diminishes the credibility.
