He's had two bad games. He'll be fine.
Trey Murphy is the one who should be getting the grief. He's been terrible and he's not 20 years old.
They really are. Calling him Kira 2.0
And I agree that the pels need to trade trey Murphy. They should probably trade Herb dependent on what they can get.

Vet Fultz was a solid player once he accepted he couldn't shoot. He outdueled the Pels several times. Kyrie, Steph, Harden, Luka, Shai are A Plus Dribblers. Fears isn't in that class of dribblers, he's clearly below it.
People conveniently forget that some pretty respected draft analysts had Fears rated as the 20th ish best player in the class. He's young. He has a lot of flaws. His April Stats mostly came against backups, 2 ways, and G Leaguers in the back end tanking and resting for playoffs section of the season. He's undoubtedly a G League All Star level player. He isn't a starter level player in the NBA yet though. He hasn't even proved that he's going to be as good as a Collin Sexton level player yet. He has a lot of work to do.

I dont think Queen will ever be even an average starting caliber player. I think Fears will be a quality starter. He's the youngest guy on the team. Fears is the only bright spot on this team, lets not give up on him after two games. The rest of the team, including Trey, look like shite.
This is where I’m at. I don’t know what Fears will become but I am fairly confident he’ll be an above average starter eventually. Queen I just don’t know. His skill set is such high risk high reward. Either he’ll be unplayable or great. I think he’s more likely to be a good backup role player.

Agree on Queen. He’s not a guy you could ever build around. He’ll probably be a backup center in the league for a while

I’m high on Queen. His IQ is off the charts. He’s coachable and willing to listen. Practiced with Deandre at 5am almost every day during the off season. Yesterday his stat line was 12 pts/7 rebs/ 2 assists/2 steals/2 blocks with +2 on the court.
He does have mental errors sometimes and can look lost without the ball in his hands. But I won’t give up on him yet.

If Queen was like 3 inches taller I’d be so high on him.

All Trey has shown is that he's nothing more than a role player.

I know this is a sad truth, but he wouldn’t have been this caliber if he’d had stayed in Nola.

Three bad games in a row.

He’s actively hurting the team. He also doesn’t shoot 3s. 1 3PA from your starting point guard is unacceptable. Especially when he plays with Zion and a center that doesn’t shoot. That means you have 3 non shooters on the court at the same time

He’s not good at winning I can tell you that.

Not at all.
Kira couldn’t even get on the court lol

Queen brings more to the table than Fears

He shot 50% in preseason, too bad it couldn’t translate when it matters

Hope you like the taste of shite sandwiches, cause our 20 year old will make you eat some before the end of the year. He work ethic’d his way into a starting role. That work ethic will see him out of this start.

To be honest, Fears has proven he’s really good at preseason games. But he absolutely still has to prove he can be a legit NBA starter when it matters. Having said that, he’s really young and probably still growing and has absolute potential to be a really good player. I just have so little faith this coaching staff will do a good job in developing him. Hope I’m wrong.

Fears has yet to show that he has NBA level skills
Did you not watch any games last year? You're really basing everything off the three games this season?
He's shown potential that he can be a rreally nice player. Unfortunately for him if he turns out really nice he'll probably have a Deaaron Fox in Sacramento type career.

that’s a really great comparison

quote:His style and rookie year compare well to Tyrese Maxey, though Fears was 1 year younger.
Is there a NBA star that you could compare Fears’ game to?
Fears turns it over more, but otherwise, very comparable.
That doesn't mean Fears will be as good as Maxey, it's just the most obvoius answer to your question, and a great comp for his ceiling. He is very unlikely to hit THAT ceiling, but that type of player is what you're hoping for and IS a good comp for Fears.
quote:He averaged like 14 and 4 in 25mpg at 19 years old last season. On a per 36 basis, that's 20 and 5 assists...again for a 19 year old. It wasn't efficient, but rarely is a guard at that age with that usage efficient as a rookie...almost never I'd guess.
But you should be able to see the skills that are supposed to make him a great player. He’s got a good handle but that’s about it. He’s not a good shooter and has never been one going back to college. He’s a terrible defender, that’s not going to get better due to his size. He’s not a good passer.

quote:He got the wrong coach, arguably the worst possible coach to develop him.
I’m high on Queen. His IQ is off the charts. He’s coachable and willing to listen
quote:He's terribly out of shape, he even complained about waking up so early to work with Deandre, so it just doesn't seem like something he has much interest in taking seriously and being in shape and ready for games like he should.
Practiced with Deandre at 5am almost every day during the off season.
I think he relies on size and his innate skills, but just isnt' a serious basketball player imo
