If you can get Beal you have to. He possibly is enough to salvage the AD era, and if he isn't Beal + Jrue + Tatum or Simmons gives you as good of a star as you're likely to get in the draft if you hit the reset button but you still have Jrue/Beal and maybe Niko in place to have an immediate playoff level team.

My one question is that if we deal for Beal, then who’s the PG? We all see Jrue is better playing off the ball and penetrating to the rim. Does either Payton stay the PG and takes Moore’s spot?

All the players mentioned were under Monty’s development not Alvin.
Who has Alvin help turnaround? Tim Frazier? Maybe James Ennis?

Trade Jrue, keep Payton at pg. That's if we lose AD.

sorry but don't get Your point
Andre Harrison was cut by MEM and nobody offered him a guaranteed contract. Which usually means that you are not good.
Dell contacted his agent and they agreed to sign a two-way with the promise of 45 days (or so) with the first team to get all possible guaranteed money.
He has done it last year with Mike James.
They agreed that Harrison will get his money.
Pels got kinda insurance because of Elf's injury. If he was to pen out - Frazier would have been cut and Harrison would get his minimum.
He did not worked out and was let go - in time to get a two-way or 10-day or NG contract. Whatever.
It was arranged from the start. Both sides gave themselves a solid and it did not worked out.
Harrison was inactive for 7 of last 8 games.
What was the point of offering him a contract for the rest of the season while cutting a player?
Pels had more than a month to see what they have in him and decided to move on.
Don't see any gut-wrenching thing here.
It was expected for some time.
Dell has his flaws, but this was a good move.
Also - man - it is only a two-way...
We talkin about practice?

Wait what? I mean if we deal for Beal, how will Jrue fit? He’s not going to be involved in the deal more than likely. How can we fit Jrue and Beal while still having a game managing PG?
Posted on 1/9/19 at 10:50 am to Mad Scientist26
Beal at the three on defense. It's adequate enough for the offensive firepower he brings
Posted on 1/9/19 at 10:56 am to Mad Scientist26
Beal may not be 1st team defense, but he's a big guard like Jrue. Jrue would be your best option for slowing down a LeBron or KD, but outside of those bad matchups a 3 guard lineup of Payton/Jrue/Beal would give you 3 guys that have the size and speed to switch 1--3. It should be good enough defensively and better than what we've seen most of the season with Frazier and Moore at the other 2 spots.
On the other side of the ball you've built a pick your poison offense, especially if Payton can keep up the good shooting in the lane and from 3.
Payton
Jrue
Beal
Niko
AD
What team has enough defenders to even slow that down if they are willing to move the ball?

Yeah I still have my concerns defensively in a 7 game series against teams with above average small forwards, and ideally in the future you might want to replace Payton with a Simmons type that can be a facilitating forward that can play point, but it's a good enough lineup to make AD think long and hard I would imagine....Assuming that lineup could stay healthy, which is the big IF every season with this franchise.

I think that lineup would be capable of being very strong defensively. No one under 6'4, can switch everything, both the bigs move well. If guarding George, Durant and Lebron is your concern get in line with every other team in nba. I think all you can do is get rim protection which we have and take up their air space and hope they miss.

Beal led the Wizards to a win and went for 34 on 13-21 against the Sixers as the sole focus of the Sixers defense.
Like I've said, I'm all in for running that lineup and doing what is necessary to get him, you don't turn down putting a talent like that on your roster if it is even remotely attainable. Beal with the gravity of AD pulling defenders away and Jrue out there cutting to the basket and Niko waiting for an open catch and shoot three is a nightmare for opposing teams.

Listening to NBA radio this morning, and they said that we turned down a deal for Otto Porter.. Wonder what the deal was

- Hey AD.
We are going to trade a farm for a young star. He will be great in our roster. He can develop alongside you.
He will be best paid player this season and another.
- Who is that man?
- Otto Porter...
tadaaam

I really wonder how our FO views Otto. Good player at THE position of need, but that contract....
Crewz???
Crewz???

Getting Otto Porter would do similar things on the court as getting Kent Bazemore. how he affects our salary situation is a different story, and I don't want him for that reason.
Who will play better defense against Durant, Jrue or Otto?
I know my answer, and all those clamoring for a 6'8" SF need to think about that question. What's the point of bringing on a SF that fits the size of a prototypical SF, if he isn't a great offensive threat, and isn't a better defender at his position than a 4" shorter Jrue.
There are no available SF's that can play at least as good of D as Jrue, and be an offensive threat. Bradley Beal fits the bill for what this team needs. Good defender, great offensive player that can get his own shot and has a killer instinct.

Something like Randle, Hill and Jackson for Porter
Posted on 1/10/19 at 8:34 am to Pelefraan 1
I would think it was more of Niko and Moore and a 1st for Otto that we turned down..
Randle, Moore and Wes would be doable IMO.. Throw Washington a couple 2nd rounders

Are you trying to say Porter isnt an offensive threat?
That's his game, he shoots over 40% from 3 for his career.. Plus hes got a 6'8 frame, that yes he doesnt play the best defense but he has the length to match up with the bigger SF's
