Don't know anything about this site-

If Pels trade for Beal, I am not more confident that AD signs the extension this summer, but I would bet that Pels don't trade him this summer. They would say, "Give us a few months this season. Play with Brad and Jrue. Then we will talk in January. If you still don't want to commit long term, we will move you"

In your opinion, what would that do to our return in an AD trade?

Well that’s the case no matter what at this point. We suck too much right now.

But they gotta get Beal first. I guess Porter or Barnes is plan B.

I just can't see Porter or Barnes moving the needle much.

It would force you to take the guys the Celtics drafted instead of telling them who you want them to draft in June and make the trade in July

Id much rather anyone the Celtics draft and have a half a year to develop over us drafting someone.

Everyone thinks Davis will be moved for Tatum and the Celtics picks or the lakers young core but I could still see Dell going in the same route as the Pacers or Spurs did. A nba rebuild is a long hard process and I don't know how our fan base would handle it.

Is there any chance we get Breal and another useful player. Sato being the obvious, but also Porter or another PG/SF?

If you trade for Beal and Porter, you have to trade out 47 million in salary, so..... no

Best case scenario is that you make the Beal trade and then maybe you can ship off Wes Johnson for some guy who isn't terrible with two years on his deal. Someone like CJ Miles or Lance Thomas. Or...... you go grab Melo!

The same percentage of people who cared about the Sixers during their rebuild will care here.

Except, they had millions more population, so they still filled seats.

Can’t worry about the fear aspect and make our team mediocre for all eternity as if Benson would have. No choice but to sell the team otherwise. I’d rather a four season or longer rebuild than flirt with the 8th seat to get slapped down by the Warriors until everyone retires in 8 years.

Not a fan of the total rebuild. Hows that working for the Magic, Hawks, Suns (even though have good young players) ext. You have Jrue Holiday, probably Niko. Pels dont need a full rebuild. You could trade for a 23-24 year old who has 5-6 prime years and also a draft pick or two and not be a total dumpster fire. I go to 15-20 games a year and don't want to watch a bunch of 15 point losses.

Tatum checks both the rebuild and retool boxes. He’s ready now.

He’s an unbelievable haul to get back on his own. The pels are just lucky he’s on one of the two teams that really want AD.

ETA: idk why I’m getting downvoted. Imagine if we had to choose between that Lakers trio that isn’t looking very good without bron and jaylen brown and a ton of picks in the teens. We’d basically be praying Philly would put Simmons on the block to obtain AD at that point.

We are very fortunate Boston has an asset like Tatum to throw into any trade for AD.

I can't say this enough. The total rebuild only works if you have a strong organizational foundation and culture. Then, on top of that you need to get extremely lucky.

Luck and organizational culture. Sound like the Pelicans to you?
