Yes totally agree Crewz. Tatum does check both the boxes. Hes the perfect guy to get back. Young, can be the best player on a good team right away and his future upside could be top 5-10 player in this league. I think a haul of Tatum, Smart( like his grit something we lack) and their two best picks in the incoming draft would be best possible trade.

True...but I have to say our player development reputation could take a leap.

Jah mentioned it in the Jen Hale interview the other day as the reason he’s been improving. Corporate speak yes...but if Jah becomes a legit rotation player...the Pels will get some credit.

Of course, if scuttlebutt around the league is that ownership doesn’t care, it’s hard to shake that.

I think Ferry being named POBO wouldn’t be great, but it might be better than football guy.

Perception is reality.

They turned Ajinca and Babbitt into rotation players when they were thought to be out of the league. Belinelli was a flap whose career they turned around, same for Vasquez. Ayon looked good in the first year. I can go on and on showing examples of them doing that in the past. Tyreke couldn't shoot a lick before he got here then became 40+ percent for a while here and in Memphis.

Player development is fine. Culture is a long term sustained plan of building some kind of continuity and keeping those players in a defined role. Not just making them DNP again because you fell in love with some other guy in free agency. Or because the guy made a few mistakes. Its about giving guys a chance to fail, knowing that it might hurt you short term but will pay off long term.

This franchise hasn't done things like that in years because everybody is just fighting to keep their job tomorrow.

one of the reasons I’m in favor of keeping Demps, Al, AD & Jrue. Continuity matters more than ever.

However, a true leader at the top would help tremendously. Not a guy from the NFL

I don't mind keeping people if those people aren't making decisions for the immediate because they fear for their jobs.

Act as if you have a lifetime contract. Do what's best for the sustainability of the franchise. That hasn't been the case in years. Instead it's always about doing what needs to be done to save my job this year. Future be damned

To be fair Demps didn't offer the max to Boogie when he was playing Hardball. I have no idea where Demps head is now, I can imagine he is in fear for his job mode

I don’t disagree, but the win now mandate from Tom Benson screwed up the build from jump street.

I think Demps handle Boogie negotiations with long term vision.
We have no idea how good Boogie will be as a centerpiece. He should be impactful in GSW, but that’s a different story.

Demps was going full retard on the win now method before Benson even became a potential buyer. The vetoed CP3 trade was an awful win now move.

I'd argue it was more the gaping roster holes throughout the Demps era that have given fringe NBA players the minutes they needed to become rotation players for other teams.

the NBA leaked every detail of every convo Demps took part in.

Imagine how difficult that makes your job.

However, the Benson manadate had picks flying out in the door.

They need to make that trade before the Pels get too many more wins. Look at what people think of the Pel's pick.

Probably 25 NBA teams have a shot at a playoff spot, and that's great. But the bottom five teams are atrocious and at least four of them are in full tank mode. Not a great look.

The NBA knew tanking would still happen. But the league has to hope the flattened odds lead to Orlando, Detroit and New Orleans landing top three picks -- and the Knicks, Suns and Cavs being bumped out.

Chicago made the Mirotic trade in part thinking it was likely 12-16ish instead of 22.

The Pels with health, at worst finish 10th in the west.

However, frick trading a first rounder.

Long term, back end rotation players like Clark need to be replaced with rookie contracts
