We are not even sure that that Pelicans are hot after Beal or not. Other than the random tweet, there have been no indications that Beal is a serious target.

Thanks. I guess we have a month to see how this shakes out. If Porter is #2, I can see a situation where we settle for him (like you suggested could be a possibility).

Have no idea if he actually has sources, but he says he does and its a good follow just to talk pels basketball with other pels fans.

To me the real question is how good is Beal's fit next to Jrue, especially if you have to give up Niko and his gravity to make it happen. Because if you have to send out 2 1sts to make it happen then your SF isn't likely to ever be better than a Wes Johnson/Mbah a Moute type.

I’d need assurances from AD that he’d sign the supermax in the off-season before I give up 2 1sts. Which i doubt he gives us, so I’d pass.

cant have everything
if beal is your SG and AD is your PF/C than mbah a moute is fine as your other wing

he won't do that, but a jrue/beal backcourt would be a fine place to start re-building, considering the assets coming back from a davis trade

if we were to go all in for beal wouldn't that mean we'd end moving jrue back to PG? or would we go back to the 3 guard starting lineup with elfrid-jrue-beal? his fit is unclear, but I would definitely gamble for someone who's gonna put up 24 a night

If they somehow got Beal, my hope is they go back to the 3G-2F lineup. Last years late season run wasn't a fluke. That lineup works in today's NBA.

I'm fine with two firsts considering
A) Beal gives us much better chance of bringing back AD than future picks do
B) if AD moves on, we can get picks back with ease
C) this franchise can't draft and develop worth a flip
D) this draft sucks and Beal will devalue our pick anyway

So they want Niko, Frank, and 2 1sts?
I guess we would throw in Wes and maybe Frazier once his contract is guaranteed.
Niko, Frank, Wes, Frazier, 2 1sts for Beal?
Would maybe consider the Brogdon & Maker for Randle deal too...then explore the buyout market to finalize roster (Dedmon or RoLo)
Payton / Brogdon / 10-Day Guard
Jrue / Moore / Clark
Beal / Hill / Miller
AD / Maker / Williams
Lopez / Diallo / Okafor
May not make a deep run but that is an interesting team with shooting and defense

Man, would love to keep Niko over Randle.
Gotta make this a 3-way and send Randle to another party, who in turn can send Washington back a young asset.
Jrue
Beal
Niko
AD
That’s enough shooting and spacing to play the uptempo game the Pels can thrive in

It kind of sounds like the hang up in talks is us wanting to send Randle and them wanting Niko.
