Ty Lue has been a terrible coach. Not sure if he will last long this season

Yeah he could be looking at some felonies if Denver law enforcement decides to persue it.

Even with a CCP you cannot carry while under the influence (guaranteed he was drinking), which turns carrying it into the club a felony.

If the club has signs that says you cannot carry (most of then do), thats another charge.

Not to mention carrying it onto the team plane and across state lines, he could be in trouble with the league and with law enforcement for that.

Some of these could even turn into federal charges if the gun is not properly registered and was not transported in a locked box and/or declared at check in.

No you don't. You regularly bring your politics to Pelicans Talk.

If anyone other than the guyvfrom England was calling for Morant to be prohibited from carrying a firearm, maybe your projection of other people's discrimination might have a semblance of reason.

It's a sad commentary on the NBA that a tweet by a little known team executive supporting civil rights in Hong Kong cost the league 400 million dollars but a tweet by one of the faces of the league threatening to shoot someone for disrespecting him has no effect on the league's bottom line

LOL. That's absurd. Before we had mods, no one worked harder than me to keep political crap off this board.

I'm not trying to start a big political fight; I'm only asking people to think about why that hasn't been argued yet.

Isn't it pretty standard everywhere that it's illegal to have a gun in a bar/club that serves alcohol?

No action has been taken about the fight with the 17 year old right? The gun thing kind of made people forget about that.

Ramona Shelburne @ramonashelburne 10m

Police in Colorado said Monday they were investigating Ja Morant's actions after the Memphis Grizzlies star posted an Instagram Live video in which he displayed what appeared to be a gun while at a nightclub. Reporting w/ @MerrillLiz

The Glendale Police Department said it is investigating whether Morant may have broken any gun laws.
Colorado is an open-carry state, although there are exceptions to the law. It is illegal in Colorado to possess a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.

NBA rules prohibit a player from possessing a firearm while on team premises or traveling on team business. In the video live-streamed by Morant, it is not clear whether he is intoxicated, but others are shown drinking in the video.

It doesn't sound like the police can charge him with anything because they have no way to tell if he was intoxicated.

I could see the league coming down hard in terms of number of games. It might end up being framed as a voluntary absence from the team like they've already started, but if the league is going to change his path, this is the point to come down hard and push him in another direction.

I'm still a bit confused as I've never known it was legal to carry a gun in any state at a bar or nightclub.

What am I missing here? I thought that was always illegal.

It sounds like Colorado has some pretty lenient open carry laws in general, but Denver does not. I assume this happened in Denver? If so I think they can charge him for "unlawful flourishing" if they wanted to.

quote:

Sec. 38-119. - Unlawful display or flourishing of weapons.

(a) Unlawful display or flourishing. It shall be unlawful for any person, except for a law enforcement officer, to display in a threatening manner, or to flourish, any weapon.

If I'm the Grizz management, I'm telling this little punk to leave the team facility and don't come back until he wants to stop playing gangsta.

I'd have a zero-tolerance policy on this type of shite.

There's a clear pattern with this fricking moron and it's not the image I would want my business to have.

What about the teachers who get fired for onlyfans? They didn't break any laws. But in certain roles, you just can't do shite.

And that dumb frick almost assuredly violated some law/policy.

Its illegal for an NBA player to carry a firearm on a plane and could be punishable up to 50 games.

Ousmane Dieng a guy a lot of people on here did not want in the draft has been playing pretty solidly these last few games after coming back from injury.

Not like him being on this team would matter anyway he’d barely play and not improve
