Can we quit some of this kind of crap?

Ja Morant restores young fan’s faith in humanity with selfless act

Because his agent and/or team gave a jersey and shoes to someone who'd had a basketball stolen. How incredibly generous.

Look at this crap from Nike:

quote:

“It wasn’t as tough a decision as it sounds,” said Munson with a laugh. “Obviously, he represents the next generation of players. He’s a special spark for the game, Nike Basketball, and the city of Memphis.”

The brand weighs several factors in determining who could become a signature athlete.

“There are a few filters,” Munson said. “You look at the on-court performance and his style of play. Can this athlete become a global icon? Will they transcend beyond their marketplace? Does this athlete take us somewhere new?”

Morant “certainly does,” he said.

Nike now says that they support Ja. Of course they do.

“Me and my mom started a saying right after the season,” Morant tells Forbes. “Be a billionaire by 30. That’s my goal. So I have seven years.”
quote:

“It’s always about protecting your brand and your image,” Morant tells Forbes. “That’s the top thing [Tee] taught me. Now, I’m a brand. I’m a business. I have to protect my image to have a good business.”

So, how's that working out?

Again, can we start cutting the crap? Remember this?

Ja Morant’s $500 Tip Leads To Priceless Reaction From Waitress In Viral Video

Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant surprised a waitress with a $500 tip, and luckily for all of us, her incredible reaction was caught on video.

Morant is in the process of making a documentary series and was actually taping part of an episode at the restaurant he was dining at.

The episode that included the restaurant encounter was the third of the “Ja Morant Docuseries,” and it hit YouTube on Tuesday.

"Oh, he's so generous," everyone cooed. No, you idiots, he was making a f'ing documentary and wanted everyone to see him as being generous.

BE LIKE JA: 12 DAYS OF KINDNESS RECAP

If you don’t have Twitter, you probably haven’t heard of #Jas12DaysofKindess. On December 1st, Ja called upon his followers to suggest charitable organizations that he would go on to support for the next 12 days. Alongside partners like Nike, Body Armor, Panini America, PSD Underwear, Hyperice, and the Memphis Grizzlies, he’d select an organization each day to send a signed jersey and a little something extra—a contribution.

Look, I'm glad Larry has been doing it for us, but can we quit pretending that giving away a jersey is some incredible act of giving? THE PLAYER DOESN'T EVEN HAVE TO PAY FOR THE JERSEY.

Larry matches the money of the auction, every fricking one. Larry is going above and beyond.

IDGAF about Ja having a gun, Ja beating minors is chicken shite.

All this really does is just shows how powerful the Jews are in the world... they play victim but run the world. The treatment difference between Kyrie and Ja is stark.

I’m kinda shocked at how many people are defending this piece of shite.

I think y’all are so used to armed thugs running around in Nola that you think this is normal acceptable behavior.

My favorite is the amount of media and verified folks solely focused on constantly saying that Ja needs to have people around him that'll make sure when something happens they'll do what's best for him and remove him from the situation, bssically blaming it all on his friends.

Or maybe we can blame Ja and when a situation starts to pop up, Ja can maybe just maybe not be a dumb frick and he can do the right thing and remove himself from that situation.

Why do people keep bringing up this comparison? It doesn't make sense.

It's like w forget how woefully antisemitic Kyrie was and double and tripled down on it. And most importantly, that has a much higher potential to affect the Nets bottom line than this Ja stuff does the Grizzlies, so what's the issue here?

Ja assaults a teenager
He and his goon literally beat a teenager because he checked the ball in hard.

No issue I guess.

What are you expecting a business to do? They are going to approach it from a money angle which is why Kyrie got punished the way he did. If Ja does not change his behavior it seems like a huge legal liability for the NBA if something goes wrong, so I suspect they’ll do something.

But what do you want done? What would make you happy? A 15 game suspensión? A lifetime ban? What are you looking for here?

That's literally an allegation so you don't know that it is literally true, if you want to actually be literal.

This PHX vs DAL game is good. It’s nice watching offenses run so easy.

I’d suspend him for the rest of the season and playoffs.

If a coworker of yours got in a fight outside of work and it wound up on social media so people knew about it, but there were no charges pressed, would you expect your work to suspend him for a year?

he used to come off as nice.
i figure he's going for tough guy like dRaymond green. green is overmatched inside so he acts tough.

i hope morant flips the switch. play well without the flexing. off my lawn too.

without 3 starters vs clips. idiot brooks got t 16 and is out. Adams still not back. and this will be game1 of the rest of season without Clarke. Achilles.

Apples and oranges.

I’d suspend him for showing a fun at a club. Guarantee that was not legal

It’s not apples and oranges. I’m stipulating a coworker publicly breaking a law in a way that does not impact the bottom line of your work, and for whatever reason the criminal justice system decides they aren’t going to prosecute. You think in that case it is the duty of a private businesses to punish that employee?

I just don’t see why so many think the responsibility for this falls on a business focused on mass entertainment.

Problem is the league has very strict CBA rules on this.

He flashed the gun in Denver, to get to Denver he had to take a team plane, and he was in Denver on official business of the team

And as Bobby Marks pointed out, he’s an out of state resident in possession of a firearm. He could face actual legal consequences if he doesn’t have a CC license that Colorado would honor, or a temp one with the state.

If Ja isn’t a complete moron he should be hiring a team of lawyers to attempt to get out in front of this and try and avoid any frick ups that could put him in actual jail.

Grizz just destroyed the Clips in the third quarter. Tyus Jones with 20 points in the third. Clips defense is really bad.
