He’s longer when he’s wide open, but there were a few contested 3s where he got it off quick

He will see a ton of open catch and shoots. Let’s start by knocking them down and we can progress over the years

Look I’m just nitpicking. I thought what I saw was great. If his main job is just knock down open 3s bc of people collapsing on Z then his shot is fast enough.

What we want from Trey year 1 is when he is in the game, knock down shots in the corner at a high rate, enough to where a man has to stay near him and not collapse on Zion and BI. That's got to be the main goal.

I think he can be more though.

He's never going to command the attention that Ingram, Zion, and even Graham will command. I don't think it will be an issue anytime soon. That could be something to watch out for if he ever develops into a movement shooter but with the makeup of the team, it not even be necessary since he already moves so well in space to find a crease to shoot. And that's probably enough for the foreseeable future.

Pretty much crickets from the sports media about his debut too. That’s alright, keep sleeping on us. The Pels are coming this year!

I agree. Just saying imo he needs to be out there with Z or BI (probably more Z).

We gotta be excited about Naji's development as well.

Absolutely, his confidence in those jump shots and the energy was great. I'm very excited about this season it seems like we may be able to get out of this perpetual rut we've been in since Monty was let go.

They don't. No one was unhappy with the pick seemingly. But let's throw some shite at the wall.

I was very impressed with Murphy. How are some of our other targets or guys we discussed in the draft performing?

I don't know if I've seen a more universally liked pick before. I don't remember anyone disliking it anywhere. The most I saw was someone wanting Cam Thomas over him because they think Cam has a higher ceiling.

Some guys wanted to stay at 10 for a chance at Bouknight, Kispert, Sengun, Giddy, etc... It was a small minority.

My overreaction of the day is he should be the first forward off the bench when either Zion or BI sits down.

Honestly I think he is most valuable when they are both on the floor

Even with those people I don't remember them disliking the pick as much as having a different preference. karmapol1ce said something about yahoos crying about picking Murphy. I don't remember that.

The only negative things I can remember seeing at all to be quite honest, is people who wanted us to pick people who weren't there at 17 anymore.

So is that real criticism?

I cant remember one single name someone threw out that they would have preferred at 17 after the pick was made.

He's exactly what Zion and Ingram need. The fact he is 6'9" is very promising. He's ready a lot sooner than many other picks, which is what the team needs to get to the playoffs.

So overreaction 2:

If Trey repeats Monday over the course of Summer League do we run BI at the 2?

Graham / Kira
BI / NAW
Trey / Naji / Didi
Zion / Maybe Josh hart fits here?
JV / Hayes
