have a feeling there's something to this... Herb, Jose, Naji, etc. are part of Griff's trophy case of things he got right

Willie can't play Graham anymore.

The data is our two stars are injury prone, we lack shooting, and rim protection is bad. Idk what else they need to see. I get you want to see bi and z play but that doesn’t matter if they’re always missing games for multiple years. It’s consistent

Don’t worry, the masses will still continue to respond to objective criticism of the roster with the same recycled talking points

And what expiring salary you’re sending back?

I imagine Jax/Temple gets you close, if not adding Willy probably gets you there.

Everyone agrees that we need shooting and rim protection.

If you’re doing a 3 for 1 the team you’re trading with has to have the roster spots open to make the trade.

Honestly this is a thing

The fact that Graham was completely unplayable at times, and that isn't the case with Richardson does help. Guy can defend and his shooting is similar, much bigger guy than DG so he can guard more. Gives you some added versatility.

It isn't trading for Durant but it helps SOME.

Josh Richardson isn't a good rotational player, especially not for a team with playoff aspirations. Have you not paid attention to the league over the last few seasons? We also paid 4 second round picks to do it. It wasn't free. That move did nothing to make us better, the only significance of it was it was a cost cutting move for NEXT year.

Off the top of my head, Temple and Hayes

The Squadron are going to be stacked with all of the players the Pelicans pick in the first round over the next several years

Right, we didn't address our needs, they still exist.

We made a move that saves us money next season, gives us a slight upgrade this regular season, not even sure if JRich is in a playoff rotation for us.

What about next year when we don’t have salary filler for a move for someone like Bridges?

I imagine the team will try to move someone like Jonas this offseason for an upgrade.

They also can S&T Jaxson somewhere. That could be about $8-$10 million worth of outgoing salary, likely to a cap space team looking for talent.

Exactly. There’s no reason to melt about the DG move. Absolutely zero. Be upset about the lack of other moves, sure, but how can you be upset about a bad player on a bad contract going out with 2nds for an expiring player who’s actually playable?

Don't you EVER, and I mean EVER, come around here with reasonable logic.

This has to be the play. He'll be in his last season anyway, they better not extend him

I just disagree with you on this one. I'm not saying he's a 6th man, but the guy is definitely a capable basketball player whos a proven better shooter than Herb, Dyson, and Naji and a better defender than Tre.

It's essentially free.
