Dallas is now a secure top 4 team in the west. we'll see how they flow offensively though since Luka needs the ball so much

They lost their best wing defender. I'm not saying Luke + Kyrie can't outscore a lot of teams, but they'll have to.

Kyrie isn’t going to play half of the time for reason. Also, he’s going to ask for a trade in less than two years. Glad the Mavs got him!!

As suspected, a lakers trade didn’t benefit the nets.

I don’t know if Kyrie and Luka will be able to co-exist. They both want the ball in their hands all the time

Kyrie played the 2 a lot in Brooklyn. He should be fine.

ESPN reporting that Markieff Morris is also going to Dallas.

Kyrie Irving extension talks are expected to be put off until this summer. He is eligible for a 2-year extension now and a 4-year deal in the summer. If the Mavs-Kyrie union doesn’t continue, Dallas will have close to max salary cap space this summer.

The fit should be fine. The issue is Kyrie being Kyrie.

Dallas with Kyrie is scary.

You only really need Kyrie on the floor when Luka is out, any other time is just a bonus.

Kyrie is almost 50/40/90 for his career and is unreal around the rim. IDGAF what you can say about him, the dude can play ball.

They have to do something, that boy needs help. Clock is ticking and just a matter of time before he wants out.

Hope we go all in for him too. BI and whatever else it takes.

I have mixed feeling. Dallas got it’s second star pretty cheaply, but lost some good depth in the process. This could work out really well or they could lose Kyrie and wood in the offseason for nothing.

Dallas was already having problems because DFS isn't good enough to be a one man gang on defense. Markieff Morris isn't solving that problem either.

Dallas is 9th in offense and 24th in defense. This trade is not helping their defense, to be better than they are currently they probably need to go from 9th to top 3 on offense. That's not a crazy jump to ask really if Kyrie plays, but the defense still isn't good enough to be more than a 2nd round of the playoffs team.

Before you say they made the WCF last year, they also managed to have the 7th ranked defense last year.

True. I know Kyrie and Mavs GM are really close. So that helps benefit them to stick together if everything goes well

Agreed, if he wasn’t such a headcase I wouldn’t hesitate to send JV and 4 1sts for him even on an expiring deal.

Stupid question but does Kyrie make the west all star team now? How’s that work?

Nets didn’t get what they should have but it is better than Westbrook for Kyrie and matching salary.

I do find it funny that Brooklyn moved so much of their young core including Dinwiddie as part of dealing with Kyrie and Durant just to get Dinwiddie back in a trade tho.
