This team as constructed can win a championship

We don’t need to make huge splash trades. Just minor moves like the one Griff did today to make the edges of the roster better. We still haven’t seen this team at full strength for any length of time but I think it is coming. Maybe our stars missing so many games was a blessing in disguise. It let our young guys get valuable minutes and now they are pressure tested and ready to play when called on. It so t be this year but I think we will still show well in the playoffs this season. Next year though is the year where I believe we will be very tough to stop. The Suns and Lakers made big moves but at the expense of their depth and their future draft picks. We will win not because of Zion and BI but because we are a legitimate 10 deep team, they just need time to play together. That’s my positive outlook anyway.

Disagree but to each their own

I would have liked getting someone like Bridges or Vanderbilt but they did add what this team needs most, shooting. Richardson is a very good catch and shoot 3 pt shooter. He will be a nice addition.

Its implied...just can't have multiple guys making 25% of the cap each not playing and be at your best.
Still he's not completely wrong. Vegas has the Pels as 11th in odds, priced basically as a fringe contender in the pack. Given the Pels relative playoff inexperience on the roster (and lack of health) that feels about right.

im not assured by your post.
before season:
i thought herb would be more wonderful not less.
i thought tm3 would be a star by now.
i was more aware of jv pnr shortcomings than most but now you know.
the glaring need is to replace hayes with similar body and much better bbiq.
since that agile center deal didnt happen it tells me pels fo isnt expecting this team to make its mark this season.
in a week or two we will see how the contenders trades look. someone posted yesterday that based on trades the pels are "closer to 7th than to 4th". 6th would be nice.
pels Fo will take what they get for now. zion being out kept them from rolling some trade capital out yesterday.
lets see how kira does with grahams time. answer that in regular season before playoffs. the playoffs is where your "pressure testing" happens.

If healthy they should easily make a series in the playoffs. They should be in contention in the West for a Western Conference Finals if healthy also.

in a perfect world without injuries and whatnot, we are constructed to make a pretty deep run, i'll agree with you that far...

Ehh. If Zion ever has a healthy season and continues to get better and better, maybe.
I think at some point you have to flip CJ and picks for a true Superstar.

Yeah CJ is the salary slot you look to upgrade to a superstar. Great guy but if a dame or bam become available you move CJ, not BI.

I’m one of Griffs biggest critics on here, and I think he did good with the one trade he made. He held onto all of our firsts and real future assets. Moved the one person that needed to be moved. Will open up some more time for Kira hopefully so we can see what we have.
No reason to try and go all in this year. The team hasn’t been healthy enough to properly gage what we absolutely need to take that final step. Lots of other teams are in desperation mode b/c their window is about to shut.

Dame is getting old and I'm not sure I want to make a godfather trade for a center.
I was thinking more like Luka if things go REALLY south for the Mavs soon...and they could.

But you know the drill, he'll go where he wants, and he won't want to go to New Orleans.

I feel like Luka wants to win far more than he wants to be in a big market. And Zion and BI allow him to do that.

Can Luka play nice with Zion/Bi though?
Luka is the most heliocentric player in the league and BI and Zion both operate best with the ball in their hands too.
BI/Zion, in their limited time, have still not looked super comfortable as a duo. Luka I think would turn BI into a spot up shooter and Zion a roll man.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d take the gamble cause Luka is a top 10 player, maybe top 5. But it’s not the most natural fitting big three.
Ideal 3rd star to me is probably Donovan Mitchell, Halliburton, or Cade

This team really is a contender as constructed. One HUGE problem tho. They cant stay healthy at the top.

I think the combination of lack of rim protection and lack of shooting is going to cap our ceiling tbh
Can we? Yeah, if things all fall right and we’re healthy and get some luck. We can be as hard an out as anyone, but the lack of shooting and rim protection concerns me.
Richardson may help with the shooting if he can be like last years version, but being poor at defending and scoring from two of the most critical areas in the court on defense and offense respectively is hard to overcome in the playoffs
