We'd get something decent for Zion. Not necessarily an all-star, but someone good. The biggest question mark going forward outside of Zion is Murray's health. If he can come back and be his old self, you potentially have a good group of Murray, Trey, Herb, & Missi. You build around Trey. He showed this season he can be a star when given the minutes.

that team is winning 35 games a best. even if you got players for Zion it would be maybe a promising young player who wouldn't be good enough to take that roster up a level. I think you need to blow it up completely for the right prices. might be a 2 year blow up progress but I think that's your only path to consistent success

We are about to be off of CJ's contract. If you trade Zion for young pieces and draft capital, you can reduce salary even more. I just don't see a need to blow it all up by trading Herb and Trey when you'd have the cap flexibility to get creative in your moves.

trey and herb being involved in trades to me would more so be offers you would heavily consider. I wouldn't go out of my way to try to trade them just yet.

for example sam vecenie talked about a scenario where the spurs landed #3 in the draft and offered you #3 and Vassel for Trey. Would you do it? id consider it only because I think were inevitably going to trade him within a few years and you dont know if that offer in the future will net you a #3 pick. maybe more picks sure but one that high in the draft will be unlikely. plus you can let vassel improve his value for a year as you're already tanking and eventually trade him for another first round pick.

im not saying I would do it without question. it just depends on the path we see ourselves going on within the next 5 years. I think it'll also depend on where we land in this lottery as well.

Hell yes, in a hheartbeat. That is Ace Bailey for Murphy, plus you can flip Vassel later on. That would be awesome.

If Spurs land 3rd I’m absolutely taking that deal quick, especially if we land 1 or 2. To be able to get two of Flagg/Harper/Bailey would be ideal, along with whatever else you get in a Zion deal.

That is if they trade Zion.

With the way things are going though, we will probably trade Trey for Kris Middleton and a 2nd, after trading Zion for Julius Randle

Cade cunningham name is a hot topic right now due to rapper Drake saying he had sex in cades flip flops

Could be because of that.

Hope for luck in the lottery this year and next year to double dip on high end prospects:
'25 - Flagg or Harper
'26 - Dybantsa, Peterson, Boozer, or Ament.

This shite won’t work bc it’s the job of the coach to get through to a player. So what now, every time Zion has a personal issue he’s gonna go over Willie’s head to confide in the GM?

People are laughing that THAT is a reason to hire someone like Dumars that hasn't been a full time team exec in over a decade

And it's not for his lack of trying.

He might be injury prone but good luck getting someone with half his talent to willingly come play in New Orleans. For a team that is concerned about their bottom line so much they sure as shite must not want people buying tickets. A team with no Zion has no star power for anyone to give a shite to watch, much less pay money.

Can't believe this board is so negative given how much success the Pels have had over the past 6 years!

You think that the Pels didn't ask Joe what he would do with Zion?

Seriously chad?
I'm sure they did, but it seems they hired him in spite of Dumars' thoughts on Zion.

Shamit has been on this and calling everything well before they occurred, and he's stating ownership wants Zion out, and Dumars has asked for a chance to get through to him.

Still think they'll end up trading him.
