Some very, very minor chatter out there from guys that tweet about the team about possible Pels interest

Fox has unfollowed the Spurs on social media, and there has been a little chatter about moving him from their perspective

What would we think about the Pels making a move for Fox? How would he make sense in light of how they feel about Fears?

Fox for poole.

Murray and Fox with Fears platooning is a great move as long as you get rid of murray by mid-season. Build his value

You can never have too many good guards in a guard league

Also one thing to keep in mind:

Fox is going to be starting a 229 million dollar extension so... yeah

Murray back to San Antonio.

You would really need to add picks to make me eat that contract

Rather keep Murray then get Fox. Makes no sense with Fears.

Same here.

Fox is a really good player that might be gotten for value now given his Finals performance and contract but...

If you REALLY think that Fears is the future, it makes absolutely no sense to get a guy at the exact same position that will have to start and with that massive contract

Two years ago, I wanted Fox badly. Now, no thanks. Give the keys to Murray until Fears is ready. Hopefully, by then Murray has re-established himself and we can cash in on his re-found value.

This team needs size. Our defensive rebounding statistics mandate it. We should all be sick and tired of the plethora of second chance points we have given up post-Valanciunas.

DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!!

Spurs have to figure a way to start Harper next year, so if Poole is involved, I get it from their side just to get off Fox contract, but not from our side.

I don’t believe the Spurs would have legit interest in Murray for Fox unless Murray is routed to a 3rd team.

I have no idea if Murray would go for this, but they have zero lead guard depth if Fox is out of the picture. It's basically Harper, Castle, and league minimum flotsam. Murray coming off the bench for $20-25 million less than Fox would probably be agreeable to them. Plus he'd expire around when Castle is due for an extension.

The reality is --- they lack length and depth. They are rich at the guard position (arguably 4 deep).

Fox & Harper overlap and its clear Harper is going to be a superior PG who can space the floor.

Vassell is the superior shooter, Castle is the superior ball handler; but both also fit well when another true lead guard is next to them.

Their SFs & PFs are underwhelming with Johnson, Champagnie, and Bryant.

Their issue is their lack of length hurt them vs a long and veteran team like NY. Whereas vs OKC they matched up well because JWill was out and their strength is also guard play.

They want to move Fox now because they lucked into landing Harper. They now need an upgrade to Champagnie/Johnson/Bryant who's best role is being backup. I still think the smart move is them going after AD. He gives them length and a good secondary or tertiary player. The issue is/has alawys been availability. But if he's available, you have arguably the best starting 5.

PG: Harper
SG: Castle
SF: Champagnie
PF: Wembanyama
C: Davis

Hmmm, I would be for it, IF and only if we could make it part of a larger trade to get better and get draft picks.

There’s rumors of Clips trying to get JB in a Giannis deal, loop a huge trade together that has us sending out Trey, Poole, Hawk and Looney and getting back that 5th pick along with Turner, Fox and other picks from Spurs.

Far fetched, but that’s the only way we should be checking in on Fox.

Hard pass on Fox. His contract is so overvalued. It will be a huge albatross for years.

Pass.
1. His contract is 4 more years & WAY too much
2. He probably won’t ever be mentally right after his performance in the Finals of epic chokes after multiple gaffes.

It could be, but he also could take what happened and turn it into motivation for his future and get back to his all star self.

IMO it’s the type of risk a team like ours should take, but only for the right price. Kind of how trading for Ja would be a huge risk, but one a team in our position that’s not a players destination should be willing to take.

With what I proposed above the new starting 5 becomes:
PG: Fears/Fox
SG: DJM
SF: Zion
PF: Queen
C: Turner

That has you bringing Fears or Fox, Herb, Bey, #5 pick, McGowens, Missi, Karlo and Peavy off the bench, with additional future picks coming.

Absolute worst case you have one year of overlap with Fox paid high and Queen/Fears new contracts.

he better come with a first round draft pick.

Fox was not good in the playoffs, I actually think if Coach J didn't sit Harper so long in game 4, they wouldn't have lost.

If you make a trade to bring $55 million off the bench you should be blackballed by the nba
