Do you truly believe the Hawks will do this trade or are you trolling?

Oh, I agree whole-heartily. I merely answered the question as posed; I would be pro-active and try to dump the load.

Nice research. Just understand, haters do what haters do --- HATE!!!

The Ingram that stops the ball and acts like a pussy when he’s guarded tough and is unplayable against dort, brooks and anyone physical?

With all due respect, Ingram wore # 14 when he was a Pelican; not # 1. I'm kind of surprised with your confusion. One looks like a basketball player who is a triple threat, while the other 'stops the ball', has a limited game and looks like a nose tackle.

Just Sayin'
You mean the guy the Pelicans traded away for Kelly Olynyk. Bruce Brown and a stale chicken salad sandwich on molded rye bread?
That Ingram?

The Ingram that was the root to all the problems the Pelicans had over the last six years?
That Ingram?

The Ingram that averaged well over 20 a night on efficient shooting for the Pelicans?
That Ingram

The Ingram that is probably the most underappreciated talent this city has ever seen in any sport?
That Ingram?

Good for THAT INGRAM!!!!

For the sake of my sanity, I need this pick to fall out of the top 5.

Right now, it's all academic. Once we are established as a lottery team, where our (Atlanta's Pick) falls is at the mercy of the ping-pong gods. If you don't believe me, ask Dallas.
Aside from Flagg, who would you give up two lottery picks for?

Just Askin'
I love GTA and the brand of basketball he brings every play...never mind every night. I hate to see him go as much as anybody but we all (me included) should step back and be real. Jose' is not a front-line player and never will be. He's a solid role player who does have his moments of grandeur and likewise has moments when he is almost unplayable.

On the other hand, Murray was brought in with the idea that he would be the 'straw that stirred the drink' (as bitter as the concoction might be). Through no fault of his own, until now, fate stepped in and consequently he has been denied. I think we have to find out what Dejounte' is all about over the last half of this season, if not with the idea of keeping him, then to establish his true value for an off-season trade.

Too, Poole has to be played to rehabilitate his value (if he has any at all). I do not want to "Davonte Graham" him and attach valuable assets to get rid of him. (To this day I am conflicted about which is worse: the draft day trade for Queen or the McCollum Deal. I currently lean to the Queen fiasco as we did get Bey in the McCollum trade)

Lastly, it's an absolute that Fears has to play.

So, to keep GTA would only obstruct these three vital objectives.

They better give Eldridge a call (I prefer Ben Simmons). We don't get into our offense until there is six seconds left on the 24. This is beyond ridiculous!!!
Weaver talent identifying skills?

54 - 192 (.281 winning percentage) at Detroit

...and with moves like Queen for two lottery picks and identifying / trading for that transformation talent from Washington (Poole), he's not going to be anywhere near 'just a bad GM' any time soon; he's on a level of bad all his own.

By comparison he's made David Griffin look like a cross between Sam Presti and Pat Riley (and Griff was garbage).

I might turn into a Knicks fan. They’ve got two of my all time favorite Pels.

As angry as I am, they are still my team. I will be there.

Apparently they suck in negotiations, but not in identifying talent.

They identified talent (Queen) that will never be worth two lottery picks in the opinion of most.

What's more they identified talent (Poole) they traded for that they over-valued considerably or maybe you feel they won that trade.

Look up the name, Killian Hayes, and ask Piston Fans if Weaver can identify talent. Weaver selected him over the likes of:

Tyrese Halliburton
Deni Advija
Tyrese Maxie
Payton Pritchard
...and others including Saddiq Bey

How in tf is Zubac worth 2 1sts and a good young player? What am I missing here? He’s like the most average center of all time.

Wasn't the draft compensation we gave up for Queen considerably more than what the Clippers got for Zubac?

We did give up two first round picks (one likely an unprotected, top 5 lottery pick next year) for an untested rookie who was passed over by twelve teams this year (ourselves included).

Drafting is perhaps the only good quality of our management

I can't buy that. Queen will never be worth two lottery picks; never.

Serious Question!!

Zion and this?

-or-

BI and what we had last year with one of Fears / Queen?
So now the Knicks have the two of the three players over the Pelicans had over the last seven years who played with heart and gave it their all every night out (JHart and GTA). Now the Knicks have to find a way to get Naji.

But fear not; we still got 'Charmin' Williamson!!!

DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!!
Who's got more game...more in his bag?

Herb or Zion?
Trey or Zion?
Bey or Zion?
BI or Zion?
JHart or Zion?

..and as preposterous as it might seem...

Queen or Zion?

Just Askin'

But I can confidently say this: Every player I compared Zion to in this post is more marketable than 'Charmin' Williamson.

re: Do We do anything today ?

Posted by iykyk985 on 2/4/26 at 10:01 am to
If we move GTA today, it's a clear indication we are going on a youth movement. My bet is that we do.

We will play Zion heavily for the remainder of the season (to rehabilitate his current miniscule trade value), feature 3M3, and hope that DM will show well when he returns. Then we will dump those three and go into a full-blown OKC-like rebuild in the offseason (before the draft).

Welcome to the Jeremiah Fears Era. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Sidenote: I would be surprised if we didn't do something today because they really want to open up a roster spot for Bryce McGowens. They want to get him now as he is being courted heavily by other teams. He's averaging almost 30 points a night in Birmingham.
So get rid of # 1.

Wait!!! I forgot; he has no market!!
Why get rid of Bey; he's a ball player?

On the other hand, # 1 is just a novelty act posing as an NBA-caliber player...a player with a very limited game, unreliable as they come, and uber-lazy on the defensive end. How bad is he? He has absolutely no market. That's how bad he is.

The stark difference in the halves was on display for all to see.

In the first half we were sharing the ball, making Carolina move their feet, forcing them to rotate, had them switching and made them playing laterally. Ball movement always makes defenses work, keeps them guessing, and creates alleys and mismatches to exploit.

In the second half we became Zion-centric so Carolina sat back knowing exactly what was coming (don't we all?) They built a wall, licked their chops, and ate him up at the rim possession after possession after possession. We've seen this script before: Zion misses games and the ball moves. Zion plays games and the ball stops moving.

Bottom line: 64 points in the first half, 31 in the second half says it all. Absolutely unforgivable.
Today's matchups intrigue me. If Herb draws Ball, I suppose Bey or 3M3 get Knuepple. I would think Zion gets Bridges and Queen gets Diabate'. That leaves Brandon Miller to either Bey or 3M3 (whoever doesn't draw Kon).

I think this game will be a barometer on what happens on Thursday.

Great Defense will trump Great Offense every day of the week; ask Trey. Offense comes and goes but defense has to be the constant; it's non-negotiable

DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!!
LaRavia makes Knecht expendable. So:

Looney and Hawk for Knecht

-- or --

Dejounte and a second for Knecht

-- or --

Jose' for Knecht and a second

Preferably the first trade. Anything else and it's a hard pass!!
Queen Makes Luka and 'The Joker' look like a cross between Shaq, Dr, J., Nureyev and Baryshnikov.
Because of our draft situation, I would dispatch my scouting team to Europe in search of low-cost, unheralded, sharp shooters, who know and understand the game.
Hate to say it, but in today's game, because of his lack of athleticism, he's almost unplayable. Unless something miraculous happens (and if it did, it wouldn't be anytime soon), he will always be handicapped on the defensive end regardless of his remarkable vision and offensive 'feel'.

This isn't the 1960's, 70's, or even 80's, Gone are the days of Rick Robey (no disrespect intended). Bryant 'Big Country' Reeves couldn't translate, and he was more ballyhooed than Queen.

DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!!

Sidenote: I'm fairly certain that this post will be met with scorn but I can handle it.
