quote:Clearly you show that you do not attend the games. I sit a few rows from the Pels bench and I can guaranteed you he is far from a "blob." However, if it makes you feel like an important "big guy" to spew your ignorant BS from being your keyboard, have at it. Everyone needs something to feel important.
This is what denial looks like, everyone.

I've seen that Doctor break down that video and the "squishy" floor as he put it.
He is built like a NFL Olineman. He's always been big and built this way. He could be under 300, I don't know. It's still way too heavy. Griffin said the goal was to rebuild his body. So I expected something dramatically different.
Where does he train this summer?

quote:First, look at what show Sharpe is on and who he has attached himself to. He is nothing more than a hot-take shock mouthpiece. When did he become an expert on body types, so much so that he can tell everything about a guy in a baggy sweatshirt on a video? How many "experts" claim to be that good? Move on from your propaganda.
He just posted a video of Sharpe saying it. You didn't watch it? Don't care? Sharpe knows body types and training. He is a professional fitness model and trains with athletes in multiple sports including basketball. Both he and Skip know trainers on multiple teams and people that have met and worked with the Pelicans and Zion. They have knowledge. Where are you getting yours?

You said he’s “a blob”. He’s not, and you’re clearly wrong.

Is Z suiting up tonight and magically back to playing weight?
The team is being cautious with him because he’s a generational talent and not worth risking. He’s not being held out because of his weight.

That's a completely different discussion. He's still not Duke Zion, but he is easily where he was after playing himself into shape last season. I think most of us believe that's in the ballpark of 270-280. Shannon is wrong about him being over 300 pounds which makes most of the rest of what he said wrong too.

I don't know if they want to be bulked up to bang with the bigs or Zion just wants to keep eating whatever he feels like, but the rumors have been that "Zion's camp" and the team disagree on his playing weight too. We may never see Duke Zion again.
I'm interested to see the impact CJ has on him though. Griff and Trajan telling him to lose weight is probably like a kid hearing something from his parents. Now you have Willie and CJ to deliver that message, more peers and friends, so hopefully it gets through. It's a long time between now and next season, we don't want him falling off the wagon again.

Trying to kill conversation. Why?
Should we go back to discussing prettiest uniform? Who wears it best on the tarmac?

You consistently make the most aggressively bad and uninformed arguments on this forum and it truly blows my mind how you aren’t capable of seeing that or learning from past mistakes.
Whether it’s nonsense like siding with this brain dead argument and calling Shannon Sharpe an expert by making a hot take of someone in a sweatshirt, calling Wiggins better than BI, claiming Westbrook is a great player we should trade for, BI should be traded cause his peak is close to already over(said last year), you only need one spacer on the court at any time, and generally thinking basketball today should be played like you are trying to win a title in 1998.
Like, when Zion comes back and looks better than he has at any point in Pels uniform, are you actually gonna come own this bullshite you spew?

He was 270-280 at duke. He’s probably hovering around 300 right now honestly. But still nowhere near as big as that god awful Mountain Dew commercial lol

100% yes.
I am opinionated. I have wrong ones. I say I am wrong all the time. I did on a lot of those you somehow memorized. I believe my points on some of those are more nuanced than you are making them out to be. But never the less, I can take a L.
I don't make threads or bump when I'm proven right (Cousins, Davis, Holiday, Randle, Oakafor, Asik, Favors, Adams, etc). I don't want to be right on this. I don't want Zion to get injured or limited where we never see his full potential. That is the bad part about this debate. I see the crash coming. I'm trying to pull this thing over and lots of people are saying it's all good.

It's not the best quality, but he's definitely not fat in it. Someone needs to burn Zion's sweatshirt so they give him a new one.
Arguing about fat/not fat completely misses the point.
Zion's weight has affected his explosiveness. Zion used to have elite level of explosiveness.
Zion Elevation
That's gone. And, it's waaaay gone. Go look at your "shirtless, not fat" video and compare his elevation.
Whatever he weighs right now...whatever the reason is...his explosiveness is gone. And, in my opinion, he's AT LEAST 20-30 pounds away from getting back to it.
Let's be honest. He's not going to lose 30 pounds. We aren't getting explosive Zion back. Our best bet is to get the quick bully in the paint.

I was kind of disgusted yesterday when I was listening to NBA radio at lunch and Zach Harper and Amid El-Hassan were talking the Pelicans and the only things they could do was make fat jokes on air. It was sad and truly unprofessional especially coming from two guys that have been around the league for such a long time. At times, it was warranted but now it's just sad.

They aren’t wrong. Zion is about 315 lbs looking at that video. Bringing him back might get him hurt all over again. If I’m the pelicans I’m having a nutritionist this off-season with him at all times making him meals because he needs to drop at least 25 lbs to be able to play am NBA game unless you only plan to get 20 minutes a night out of him and really he needs to lose about 40 lbs. the good news is a guy that big and as young as he is it won’t be hard to do as long as they monitor what he eats he won’t even have to work out that hard to make the weight come off. Zion needs to be playing in the 270-275 range to get the most out of his abilities. If he can get anywhere close to that he would be unstoppable. For comparison, Jonas is 6 inches taller than Zion and still weighs about 265. In our offense you’ve got to be able to run the floor and get back on defense and Zion will just not be able to do that playing at 300+

Hush, what does Shannon Sharpe know about fitness??
I mean DK Metcalf has like the best physique in the NFL and has terrible fricking nutrition.

If he can come back awesome, but the value that we could get for him in a trade would be more than enough to compete with our current roster.
Even with all this delay on Zion, he will still ONLY be very early 20's by the time he gets it together.
If you trade him, he'll be a monster for another team.
Stand pat, let this shite play out and enjoy him for the next decade.

Yes but DK works out nonstop everyday sometimes twice a day. Zion will never do that. It’s got to be about his nutrition because he doesn’t have the work ethic to eat what he wants and then go to the gym and burn it off. He’s still immature in that regard. Im confident is winning has lit a fire under him though and I think we see him come to camp around 290 lbs and if he did the Pels would call that a major victory.

I dont get you guys ... every player we draft you say "all he needs is to put on some weight"
Zion puts on 40 or 50 lbs and you're still bitching
