Dyson will get playing time as long as he stays healthy. I can see Jose getting 20-22 minutes as the backup PG, and Dyson getting the same amount of minutes as the backup 2/3.

Well healthy was implied in scenario…

Daniels needs to be running 20+ minutes imo.
Year 2 before they know how much they are going to pay him. Slotted at 8 is the same as Jax…point being it gets expensive to pay someone when you’re not sure what you have.

I’d like to extend Daniels next summer before he really blows up in Year 3 or 4

He’s got Ingram playing 26 mins at SF and 6 mins at PF

And CJ 26 mins at PG and 5 at SG

He did the dual position minutes thing for a few more players as well.

Is this the actual roster turnover?

In
Jordan Hawkins in the draft
Cody Zeller
Maybe Karlo Matkovic?

Also EJ Liddell is going to be back from injury

Out
Garrett Temple
Willy Hernangomez to Barcelona
Jaxon Hayes to the Lakers
Josh Richardson to the Heat

Going to miss Willy. He was a great team guy and he answered the bell and performed every single time we needed him to play extended minutes. He deserves a larger role though so I’m happy for him. One guy I think people always seem to sleep on is Naji. You need that junkyard dog type player. You e got that at PG with Jose and Naji gives you that as a wing. He will still find his way on the floor even though the top 8 will be the main heavy rotation. CJ, Herb, BI, Z and Jonas starting with Trey, Jose and Larry being the first off the bench. If they stay heated they can be scary good. We saw it in a small dose early last year.

Wtf did he say to make you believe that they were making drastic changes to the roster. You just wanna hear what you want to hear and cry foul for no apparent reason because it's Griff.

Yeah, I broke it down by position, makes it easier on me to visualize different lineups with guys on the floor together and helps me when breaking down minutes.

I just can’t believe we’re running it back without upgrading rim protection and rebounding.

The upgrade will come from EJ and Zeller being more playable than Hayes and Billy so the team doesn’t go small as much or lean too much on Larry. That’s clearly what they’re hoping.

EJ may be cheaper than Hayes, but there's no reason to think that he'll be better.

Shooting and rim protection the teams biggest needs, and neither addressed.

2023-24 is just a pray for health run it back. If they are healthy and in the thick of it, trades will be available to improve shooting or rim protection.

If Zion/BI aren’t healthy, the roster will be turned over this offseason.

He is certainly less physically gifted. But a smarter player and probably more skilled is almost a certainty.

I would feel a lot better about relying on EJ to be the primary backup at 4 this year if he hadn't shot under 20% from outside in both 22 & 23 summer leagues, since that's his swing skill.

He showed improvement in college and the 37% he shot in 21-22 is encouraging, but he may still take a bit of time to be the Grant Williams banging bomber archetype, and IMO it would've been helpful for the front office to provide a bit of insurance.

Either way he'll provide a better rebounding and post defending option than what we had in reserve at the 4 last season, but also knocking down the open kick-out is what would make him really playable.

Having a BBIQ higher than a potato would be a step up over Jax.

All the athleticism in the world doesn’t do much good if you are fricking clueless.

I can think of 2 reasons. Probably the 2 most important reasons.

1. EJ played basketball his whole life. So I definitely believe he will have higher IQ. Already showing that really.

2. One of these guys actually cares about basketball.

The only thing Jaxson has on EJ as of right now is athleticism. And obviously size

Jaxson hasn’t improved much in 3 seasons and makes the same summer league mistakes. We saw EJ get comfortable after 3 summer league games coming off a year long injury while making limited or 0 mistakes.

Anyone else worried about EJ's rebounding? I realize it was summer league, but that aspect of his game seemed lacking, and it's probably what the Pels need most out of him.

Better and more playable to Willie are not necessarily the same thing.

Rebounding is something that usually translates well from college. EJ averaged 9.3 for his career per 40 minutes vs. Larry averaging 8.9. So he'll probably be a good enough but not really good rebounder.
