This kind of trade for AD is not going to be a simple 2 team swap, others will get involved no matter if we are dealing with Boston, NY, La

It still will be Boston or New York. But as I have said for a while, the Pels will ask for the moon and reports will come out saying they came "close' with the Lakers and will revisit over the summer.

I am telling you what the Godfather offer would be. And also telling you the Pels would still say no unless the Lakers can go get other things to throw in stupid good things for the players the Pels don't want. Which won't happen. But this is how you negotiate!!

Love the draft picks and the dumping of salaries but I’m not to crazy about the players coming in. I don’t like Warren and Ingram but you do have a ton of picks and assets to move. I think it’s to far fetched to happen but it would be cool if it did.

are the Pelicans shooting themselves in the foot with asking for so much?

I mean, the answer is always no if you don't ask. They aren't going to get that much, but in the same way that the Lakers threw a ridiculous lowball with their first offer we counter with something ridiculously crippling. Magic really can't afford to just walk away from AD. If they offer us 3 firsts and get another first out of Lonzo I think we probably end up taking that.

I’m amazed that the Pels actually sound like they know what they’re doing. It’s just so odd like previous history has lead us to believe they would screw this up but so far it’s just awesome.

Nobody will build another Warriors level roster unless they have 3 all stars they draft.. That's how the Warriors got built

Been fascinating just how MAD Lakers people are at how the Pelicans are negotiating.

Why not? Ring chasers have been taking sweetheart deals for years to compete for a ring. What’s to stop more DMC type deals from happening? And anyone that does that to help Lebron will get that money they lost in new sponsorship revenue. Free agency will get even worse until new rules are put in place

And yes I understand how the Warriors were built. But adding KD and DMC and some quality veterans in FA has bolstered them significantly

It's like they think they're calling up a player from their AAA team and the team is refusing to send him up. That's not how this works you entitled asshats

Way too much going on. It'd be interesting to see if the Lakers would try to run around and make all that happen though

Also have all the Lakers 2nds and Lakers first in 2023 and 2025,

Whenever LeBron left Cleveland, they were always the worst team in the league. So, this could be fun to have since he would be retired before then and you don't have a clue as to what kind of team the Lakers are without him while Anthony would be running things in this scenario

Because you simply can't acquire 4 players in free agency or a few years into their careers like GS did, without extreme luck.

Drafting, signing Curry to a great deal with injuries, getting KD when the cap exploded. Many of those things just felling into GS's lap.

I guess, if that exact situation plays out again with an injury. A healthy player won't take a 1 year $5mil deal just for the heck of it and turn down $175m or whatever # Cousins could have gotten if healthy and signed the max.

Then like I said, you'd understand that no other team would ever be able to add a KD similarly, that was a 1 time very lucky timing type deal.

This trade, by the way, is batshit insane.

Way to many moving parts to have it come to fruition. Which I guess is the point.
