Getting KAT you better hope Trey ascends and you have to keep Hawk.

I need to look at the contract more but I think you have a way to get another ~semi max slot player in 2 years with CJs contract.

Edit: The other issue is you still dont have a guard

Est 1st apron in 2025-2026 is 196m. This would be year 1 of Treys new contract.

You would add 25m to that 160 number in 2025-26

with about 10 million to add 9 players

better hold onto them draft picks actually

CJ is your guard, at least for a season. A CJ, Herb, Trey, Zion and Kat lineup puts four massively plus shooters around Zion. And I can’t see how Trey and Kat over BI and Jonas hurts your defense.

3 PT % last season:

CJ- 42.9%
Herb- 41.8%
Trey- 38%
Kat- 41.6%

If Trey is your least productive outside shooter around Zion, you have “something” going.

I'm trying to ignore all the legit downsides and only focus on a lineup with Zion as the clearcut #1 running the offense through him and surround by CJ, KAT, and Trey

Better get those points in before he fouls out.

That would be a fun fricking team to watch.

My biggest apprehension on a KAT trade is the amount of money he’s making, combined with the fact that I believe adding him doesn’t raise the ceiling of this team one bit, and maybe lowers it slightly with a Zion injury.

KAT is not the answer. We would have an even bigger hole for a rim protector with him. Plus, I wouldn’t pay 50 mil for a guard in a big man’s body who’s consistently in foul trouble for dumb decisions.

I never understand why people project us to become a tax team, especially going way over. That's just not going to happen. Honestly it shouldn't. It's poor planning and will only lead to the team being mismanaged, then eventually being sold and moved. The team being profitable and positive (not controversial), makes it easy to own and manage..

We will never be a second apron team unless we’re making finals appearances IMO, in the next two years we will most definitely enter into the first apron though

The 8th pick in the draft should be further along than this in his development, which is why he is considered a bust right now IMO.
What development? Only offense? He is ahead of the game on the defensive end. What do you think of Ivey and Sharpe?

I think he referencing that Nembhard is better- I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt

Correct. I’m just saying you don’t give up BI for a player that had a few good games in the playoffs as the centerpiece. That’s asinine.

I agree completely on the money. Not sure about the ceiling though. He is a career 40% 3-pt shooter on 4-5 a game and can get rebounds and blocks.

You’ve had a quite a few bad takes in this thread. No way am I including Dyson in any trade.

Huh? Who are trading? Only want to trade players like JRE and Liddell?

No but you have tried throwing him in a bunch of your trades for players that don’t move the needle for no reason and I think it’s stupid. Just my opinion.

BI, Nance, CJ, Hawkins, Jose or one of our 3 firsts in the next two years. If we trading CJ, I’d try to hold on to Hawkins.
