Yeah, the Zion extension officially took him off the table, and Griff was crystal clear at that press conference that we would not trade BI, so I don't know why we are even discussing this again.

I definitely believe that we are in the discussion for KD, as it seems that KD may be willing to consider other teams now, and we still have the picks to make it work, and KD would probably make us title favorites this season.

But everyone can quit worrying about BI or Zion getting included in the deal.

Just stopping in to say this has been a super boring Free Agency. I’m not angry about it, just not much activity across the league.

The KD thing has really gummed up the works across the league. I think the Pels are waiting on other moves to shake out before deciding what to do with EJ, because there's no reason not to have given him a 2 way at this point unless you plan to possibly give him a full contract still.

Is there any chance he plays this year?

Isn't the Gleague season over early?

It didn’t come out several pages ago. It came out several years ago. David Griffin has loved BI from the jump. He is untouchable in D Griff’s mind. Always has been and always will be. We didn’t need some random report to tell us that.

I think David Griffin likely views Ingram, like Dallas views Luka and the Bucks view Giannis.

Russell Westbrook-led package, this Nets team has all the necessary ingredients to bottom out for a year.

I think people are sleeping on Westbrooks ability to make a bad team average. It's not like he doesn't have the physical tools to play basketball. He can play the Nets right out of the lottery.

Yes but most of teams don't like to be 7 or 8 and cannot make conf semi finals+

The philosophy is : Tank or Contender

ACL recovery is usually around 9 months give or take. The GLeague playoffs are at the beginning of April, so unless he has a speedy recovery he probably doesn't get to play in the GLeague. That doesn't mean he can't have a 2 way contract though. We currently have an available 2 way and it's a simple way to pay him that doesn't impact the main roster or salary cap.

he would not play for the nets or anybody else on the 47MM contract. nets would buy him out and make him an unrestricted FA

420 NBA related thoughts. The moment Demarcus Cousins didn’t 1v1 Brittney Griner to quell her delusions at least enough to think that Russians wouldn’t check her especially when the carts have metal in it and she is a 6’9 black woman with tats and a deeper voice than a lot of men. She really thought it was sweet.

the deal supposedly has to include
1. a star
2. a few picks.
3. guys so money is right.

zion and Brandon are keepers.

pels need jv.
pels improved with cj.

I don't get who the star is who goes out.

I'd do zion for Durant.
nets get one non expiring pick swap starting any years pels do not have a pick swap.

Why would he accept a buyout?

All they can do is pay him his full amount and sit him. He could probably file a grievance if they don't let him play. He's not going to take less money unless a contender is offering him a spot with big minutes (not happening).

I can't wait until he gets cut, makes all his money, joins a team that has a hole due to an injury and makes a deep run in the playoffs..

Why are you trying to continue this pointless speculation? I cannot happen because the Nets have Simmons on the designated player contract and cannot trade for a 2nd player on such a contract. That's besides the fact that Griff made it exceptionally clear at the Zion press conference that Zion and BI are here for the long haul.

Since it's absolutely not happening, are you just trying to stir up shite, or what? Why are you doing this?

Somehow pulling a 3-team trade with LA Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, and GSW seem feasible.

Nets send KD to GSW, Irving + Harris to LA Lakers

LA Lakers send Westbrook + 2 1sts to Brooklyn, Nunn to GSW

GSW sends this to Nets: Wiggins (not likely to re-sign), Poole (not worth a max), Wiseman (high potential), and Kuminga (high potential)

GSW get their "big 4" with solid bench contributors still.

LA Lakers get Irving

Brooklyn ends up a pretty deep team with young talent to groom (can even buy out Westbrook if they want): Westbrook, Poole, Simmons, Wiggins, Claxton
Bench: Thomas, Mills, Curry, Kuminga, O'Neale, Wiseman

Assume you buy out westbrook, you essentially move Kuminga or Oneale into the starting "4" spot and shift Wiggins to 3, Simmons to 1.

Wiggins can't be traded to the Nets due to the 5 year thing as well.

And Wiggins is going to resign with the Warriors and probably for a bit of discount. He is their 2nd best player and a bridge to the youth movement. I'm not saying they would never trade him, just not right after he won them a title..

True, scratch that --- forgot that he's still on the albatross of that extension

I think he has more than lived up to that deal and he is now considered a bit of a bargain.
