He's on 30 mil, maybe slightly overs now, rather than a massive overpay.

In no way is that a bargain though

15-20, that would be a bargain

He was an allstar and was arguably the Finals MVP. He is also considered an all NBA level defender now.

If he is over. Is McCollum also considered overpaid (they make the same)?

I wish he was trustworthy because the last couple of days he's dropped 2 absolutely classic stories that I want to believe are true.

So who would coach the team the other 24 games lol?

...Something also tells me he wouldn't be taking a commensurate discount on his contract to allow the team the financial flexibility to bring in players that can fill in his scheduled absence. He'd want his max dollar

There's no way that the NBA would allow that language in the contract, especially with their crackdown on healthy players resting.

Wouldn't surprise me if that clown Kyrie wanted that though.

Well Shams said his story about Simmons leaving the chat after the nets players asked him if he was playing game 4 wasnt true.
So a little difficult to trust what he says. But I’d believe this about dumbass Kyrie.

is it really preposterous that westbrook decides to be on the "try hard" all defense team with jose and pat Beverly?

if ad and lebron play 70 games and Westbrook is trying on defense they can be a top 6 and avoid the play in and 7 8 dealing with kahwi, cp3 or curry in first round.

Kevin Durant didn't back off his trade request during a recent meeting with Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai. That meeting may have also been Durant's last interaction with the Nets for a while. Once considered unlikely, it's now believed Durant is heading towards holding out if he's not traded. Many believed Durant's love of basketball would have him in camp, but his insistence that he be traded now seems to be leading towards a holdout. Durant was reportedly paid 25% of his 2022-23 salary on July 1, with another 25% due on October 1. However, should he hold out, Durant will likely be fined the maximum amount for any time missed.

What a little bitch. I'm embarrassed I was a fan of this guy years ago. He's as soft and whiny as any star athlete I can recall.

They owe their 2023 1st in a swap to Houston, so they can't even just start the tank.

Eh, sorta true but Houston is likely a bottom tier team next season so even with a swap, if they tank they're likely to have a pretty high pick next season.

yes I would guess the chances of houston having a substantially worse pick than the nets without Durant and Irving are pretty slim. The nets could tank with confidence this season

nets front office needs to do their mourning now.
call the best offers and
deal Durant next week.

once season starts its tough to integrate a new guy or guys.

memphis and gsw are interested but not at some kings ransom utah nonsense level. Brooklyn can have Jj jr as is and 2 unprotected first round picks.
they can have Poole and two unprotected first round picks.

the Minnesota trade was so desperate. 4 #1s.
and no one even says they became top tier.
they are just one of several jockeying for 5th 6th or a play in slot. no one sees them competing for the two top seeds.

Jaren Jackson can’t be traded while he is injured…..

I don't think that is true. Injured players are traded a the time. Ben Simmons was traded and never took a physical, then took the rest of the year off with a previous back injury..

Can be traded but value takes a hit, especially if they will miss extended time or the injury is perceived to be potentially chronic.

We got BI and Lonzo PLUS Hart and a ton of picks in part because both Lonzo and BI were coming off injuries, which was potentially a sign of career threatening issues in BI’s case and was fairly chronic in Lonzo’s case.

If either or both had been fully healthy, they would have still been involved for salary purposes but we would probably have gotten fewer picks / swaps.

and lonzo is still hurt.
saw a story the other day that they are hoping he will be ready for camp. His issues may well be chronic

I think a lot of his issues are tied to using the BBB shoes his dad pushed on him.

Not only did it cost him a huge Nike endorsement, it may have permanently fricked up his mobility.
