Why did I always think Houston was widely panned for the shite return they got for Harden?

Weird

IIRC last week there were rumors that the Nets didn’t mind giving him max money, they just wanted to put a clause for games played in the contract to protect themselves, which started this whole shitshow

Though I am worried about the Lakers getting Kyrie on that 1 year $6mil deal.

It would possibly screw up our swap pick this year, but they wouldn’t have bird rights on him, so they couldn’t pay him the following year. Same thing Monk is going through this year. Our deferred pick should still be good.

Rockets are about to be very good if Kyrie and KD do leave the nets with all those picks they have

Not necessarily. If KD is traded he's bringing back good players not just picks. The players he'd return plus Ben Simmons(in theory) would keep those picks in the teens at least.

Lol that’s true. I’m just saying. A lot went wrong. Fix 10% of it and they might win a round. Fix 25% of it and they might win a title.

But they just want to quit on the entire thing bc they can’t figure out how to co exist with Kyrie.

I’d Run it back without making Kyrie sit at home for 75% of the season, get Simmons playing again, add a complimentary free agent, and try to win the title.

Seems like they would rather take the easy way out and become irrelevant, than to go through some tough moments/conversations, grow from it, and try to win the title.

And selfishly, I’d love these guys to figure things out internally, so Kyrie and KD don’t end up on West teams and make the Pels path even more difficult.

They are posturing for concessions from Kyrie to protect themselves

I figure they end up better than last year by replacing Westbrick with Kyrie but their ceiling doesn’t go up much because they have no depth.

I'm not sure that they are replacing Westbrook, I think he'll still be there.

Take it for what's it worth, but MM just said on Pels Report that pretty much everything has been decided or mostly decided going into the offseason

Sounds like Liddell is set and just hasn't been announced yet but that both sides are happy

That their order of operations it the Zion extension, CJ and Nance extensions

Sounds like unless they truly feel they can get a better deal come the deadline Hayes is not in the plans. Temple would be second and Graham the last to go dependent upon the PG market

Some of this may or may not be obvious to most of us but just repeating what I just read.

He proposed Hayes and a 2nd for Isaiah Stewart

Sign Liddell to a 2-way with a promise of part of the MLE come March (a la Alvarado)

Buyout Temple

Sign Jarrett Culver (2/5 with a TO year 2)

Most don't agree with the last one...

He was asked what he meant by this "specifically" and never responded. Shocker.

Culver wtf. He is awful. Trust me, I’m a Degen gambler. I Bet on Memphis to beat Golden State by 31 or more in game 5, when they jumped up by 17 early in the 2nd q and the odds were still 50-1 due to the Warriors being pregame favorites.

Anyway. Memphis eventually got up like 57 points and the 31 point margin bet was still a sweat bc Memphis decided to let Culver iso for half of the 4th Q. Similar to how a high school team would let a special education player score in the last quarter of their last game.

SOB almost blew the point margin bet for me lol. Lead was cut to 35, but luckily Kyle Anderson got a few buckets down the stretch to seal it.

Culver is legitimately the worst player in the entire nba. Temple is better. There is no reason to buy out Temple and replace him with Culver of all players.

True and great point. So not ideal, but not an absolute killer

The lakers only have 50 mill on the books for 2023-2024 as of now so could sign him into cap space if they take no major future salary on this offseason.

Adding Kyrie to the Lakers could just as easily turn that dumpster fire into a nuclear disaster.

Wouldn't Lebron's cap hold be a huge amount to factor in as well?

Fair point. I did not factor that in.

LOL.

Houston finna eat. They lose Kyrie and KD, they are in the lottery for the next few years since the Rockets own the Nets’ picks outright or via swap rights.

This'll be an all-time tank job by the Spurs. Which is a really weird sentence to type.

In talking with multiple sources around the NBA, many believe Hawks on verge of trading for San Antonio's All-Star guard Dejounte Murray - However, it's looking like John Collins is not part of deal. Would be Gallo & multiple 1st round picks. Spurs prepping for future & '23 draft

That would be a weird, bad trade.

I do not get the fit with Murray and Trae Young at all.

I think they are simply tired of Murray tbh.

Dude is pretty toxic. Just doesn’t get much run in the media bc he’s in San Antonio.
