The nets are better off letting him go than taking Westbrook.
Lakers have nothing of value, that the Nets would want at least, unless they sending out AD. That might keep KD happy to stay.

A three way deal may bring in something worth getting but it would mean someone has to eat the soggy biscuit and take Westbrook.

KD says Nets FO didn’t get to know, understand Kyrie
KD can say whatever he wants but honestly Kyrie doesn’t know or understand Kyrie. He had an existential crisis once he won a title and the void in him wasn’t filled.

Nobody can understand Kyrie, because he is straight-up loco.

Rockets are about to be very good if Kyrie and KD do leave the nets with all those picks they have

If Ben Simmons didn’t already have owners prepping to hold the line in negotiations, Kyrie would definitely do so. LeBron and Klutch being at the center of most recent messes likely reinforces such a stance.
It’s way past time. You have players making 40 million a year sitting at home. If I’m an owner, it’s time to go nuclear. No more guaranteed contracts. Sit out as long as you like.

Every team will still give out guaranteed contracts.
Especially the big ones for elite players.

Kyrie has shown yiu exactly who he is. No way any team should give him a max. Hell I wouldn’t give him anything more than one year deals at a time. Lakers are the only team desperate enough.

I agree, owners can’t help themselves, but it’s why they are dealing with situations like Kyrie and Simmons. And it continue to occur.

The Nets are prepared to lose both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, per @WindhorstESPN Brooklyn would rather lose both stars 'than go through what they went through last season’

ScoopB seems pretty adamant that this is all posturing and he will be back with the Nets.

Though I am worried about the Lakers getting Kyrie on that 1 year $6mil deal.
Any other player, I'd say they're never taking that small 1 year deal...but this is Kyrie, he's a wildcard
The Lakers are so bad that Kyrie playing half the year, only home games, whatever weird arse scenario he finds himself in will still be better for the Lakers than what they currently have.

Jeez, they were literally 2 plays away from being tied 2-2 in the first rd with the ECF Champs.
With harden bailing on them, Ben Simmons refusing to play, Kyrie practicing Ramadan, and KD playing like an absolute cuck for 90% of the series.

It could be a game through the media to negotiate a contract that works for both.
Kyrie wants a long term deal. Nets want to pay less than the max and some protection against Kyrie's wackjob insanity.
There's likely a deal somewhere in there. Team Options, no no trade clause, some level of non-guarantee at the back end...something.

Go look at the owners tax bill. Pay all that money for the space cadet to tear your team apart just to go one and done in the playoffs? I don’t blame him

They have a pick or pickswap for like the next 5-6 years.
