Long term, I expect Zion to develop his outside game. 30%+ from 3 will keep the D honest. If he gets to 35%+, he will be very special. I think he and Favors can coexist...their minutes together can be limited if needed too.

If Jaxon can do the same, lookout! We will have the best core for a long time. He obviously would have a long way to go to get there but his potential is certainly untapped

Idk what you gotta give them, but I'd give them Favors and a Cleveland first and another first for Collins. Dude is that good. 22 PER at age of 22 and fits our timeline.

they’d laugh at that offer. Cleveland’s first isn’t a first

Any trade for Collins is going to bring back a player they like better than Collins. Favors ain’t it

and they don’t need picks or cap space

If anyone is board check out Trade NBA
They have these trades of the week you, filter by team. This one was one for the Pelicans I thought was interesting. Would you do it?

4 team trade

Basically we get Zach LaVine and Coby White, we do have to give up Holiday, Ball and a few picks.

Why would the Bulls do that?

That trade would never happen ever. Especially during a mid season trade deadline...

GMs don’t value LaVine anywhere close to how high fans value him. His basketball IQ is very questionable. He’s viewed by many as a empty stats/player you can’t win with.

We should revolt if we give up that much value and the main return is LaVine

It’s becoming apparent in this thread that many fans don’t value the defensive side of the ball. Holiday/Ball for Lavigne/White makes me throw up in my mouth a little. If I did a Player A/B/C, people might pick Favors anyways over Turner and others, but he allows Holiday and Ball the ability to attack like dogs on the perimeter and provides one of the best and steadiest hands at the 5 we could ask for.

Chemistry is another biggy here. We have an exceptional mix of vets and hungry youth. Is anyone really bitching about the development we’ve seen this year? Jaxson is way ahead of schedule. Lonzo is starting to look like the two way dog we thought he was. BI is one of the toughest guys on our team, a leader, and an all star. The team looks like it’s having a ton of fun.

I’m looking more at a Moore/Jackson/2nds move to pull back a backup PG or backup PF/C type deal if I’m the Pels.

Yes our core does not need to be messed with. Need to fill in more specific role type vets around the edges

Stretch 4/5 and vet backup PG are high on my list

Bjelica and Cory Joseph check a lot of those boxes

Also wonder if we would be in on the buyout market if we make a 2 for 1 type of deal.

Agree. I would like to see Miller's contract used in a deal to help with a trade for a reserve.

excellent observation that can’t be repeated enough, especially when you read between the lines of what griffin says and does. High character and chemistry was the stated goal after the windfall that was zion, and they’ve stuck to that

all the fake trades sending out a core rotation piece (other than favors) should be ignored. It just isn’t going to happen this year nor should it

None of this would be under discussion if it were not for the 13 game losing streak that has placed a team better now than its record in what is traditionally a sellers position.

Que sera
Hope for the best outcome and move on

According to @wojespn, he is “very confident” that Robert Covington will be traded at some point this week.

Ambitious as it sounds, Minnesota has sought two first-round picks in exchange for Robert Covington in advance of Thursday's trade deadline, league sources say. Let's see where the Wolves land if/when they actually deal him, with Philly and Houston at the front of the RoCo line

That's not surprising. People have been acting like Covington being available meant he'd come at a reasonable price, but they are basically where we were with AD before trading for Boogie, only they don't even have a Jrue level player. They aren't dumping Covington, they are trying to swindle someone to have more assets to trade for a piece that will at least buy them another year with KAT.

It would depend on the team trading the picks IMO

Philly and Houston, Minnesota knows it would be low 1st round picks

Pels come in and offer a 1st with top 8 protection, the Cleveland 1st (2 high 2nds), they may view that as more favorable

Melli has been playing well enough that Covington would no longer be my target though, I would be focusing on trying to flip Miller for Bjelica

With the way we’d use him, isn’t Bjelica just a better version of Melli though?

There's no reason the Pels should give 2 firsts to Minnesota for Covington, a marginally better version of Josh Hart. Depending on how they use Zion, he may not even be in the closing 5 every game. We aren't going to win in the next 2 years and we likely won't resign him. He's been supremely overvalued recently because the trade market is so shitty right now
