Based off my very brief google search I am all on board the Charles Lee train
same.. Charlie HC, Weatherspoon lead assistant, give Vinson a giant raise and see if you can convince him to undergo some kind of experimental cloning procedure

Serious question. You guys never considered Mulkey as HC before Baylor did?? I don't know if she was HC over there, just asking out of curiosity.
I'm not sure what you're trying to ask here. Mulkey took the Baylor gig before Leon Barmore retired. Barmore was an absolute legend.

Here is my Jacque Vaughn story and I’ll get off this board. Any game in NOLA or Houston for ORL I used to sit right behind the bench. So 3/4 times a year I had floor seats.
At times during the breaks you could tell his players ignored him. Even Oladipo who at the time was a Rook/2nd year.
At one point I tell Jacque “you know those dudes ain’t listening to you.” And he just looks at me, stares and just ignores me.
Glen Davis was on the team then and he was pretty much out his mind. He started his thugging it and loving around that time. Think he tore up a hotel lobby or something.

I think you’ve told this story last year lmao. Or I’ve heard a similar story. Either way I don’t think any of us want him. I doubt we hire him

Tom Crewz reckons TSpoon or Lee

I’ve told it a few times on different boards. We used to heckle Glen Davis and he’d flip us off. 2012-2014 I went to a ton of games between DC, Houston, NOLA and NYC. I watched Jacque Vaughn lose a lot of games.
You do not want him coaching your team.

So picking her if she's the best candidate with the added plus of Zion liking her is great.
Picking her because she's cheaper is no
It's not solely because she is cheaper, but we arent an org with bottomless pockets. Most orgs paying 2 coaches take contracts into consideration. Cheaper to hire a first time head coach and a vet assistant.
The org also thinks very highly of her as a coach beyond her ability to connect with players. Not saying she would necessarily be my first choice if I ran the org, but given the shortened offseason and that we are paying Stan, I think there is a good chance she is the next coach with Zion supporting her over other candidates.

Lee with Spoon as lead assistant and Vinson coming back would be great.
If Spoon gets the HC role can we get any of the big names to come here and be her assistant?
Aside from money, what entices an assistant to make a lateral move?

That's pretty much what I wanted to know. I just wanted to know why she wasn't a HC there before becoming one at Baylor, and you answered that. Yeah, I knew Barmore was pretty much legend there after winning NCAA titles there. Thanks, brah.

Hiring Kidd will be the death nail for the Griffin leadership and Zion as a Pel.

You can say that about any hire he's going to make. It's basically a Hail Mary at this point.

I don't think Kidd would take the job, anyways, he wasn't interested in Portland even though Dame money wanted him there. Kidd seems to be positioning himself to take over as the Lakers coach.

Goodbye you radical left wing fat piece of shite! Don’t let the door hit you in the arse on the way out! Now let’s go get Darvin Ham, Charles Lee or Vanterpool. Props to Griff. We never expected him to admit he made a mistake and give up after one year but he did and he corrected it. The players have to be ecstatic.
If you hate a left-wing coach, than you probably shouldn't look into the political leanings of most players in the NBA.

How you guys feel about Billups? After watching lots of No Chill with Gilbert Arenas, I think we should hire a former player. Go watch the podcast where he has Earl Watson on

I'll give Griff a few props for realizing his mistake and taking care of it quickly. But there's a few names that's been mentioned already that would be bad hires. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Y’all are giving Griff way too much credit here. This came from Gayle ultimately.

Here are her qualifications: 1) She is a woman 2) She is black 3) The players like her.
I mean the first two got us Kamala as VP, even though she was not liked by anyone.

I’m struggling to identify a griffin decision (zion was not a decision) that has worked out better than the available alternatives have elsewhere
Hayes and NAW could turn out to be a great decision. People are still infatuated with Hunter and hate the trade but the guy played like 26 games this year. I'll take two potential starters with one of them having an all star ceiling over Hunter. I give him props for that, that was a gutsy move and it could pay off nicely.
With the Jrue trade he was able to get more picks than anyone expected, especially considering it was a trade request where you don't have as much leverage. This board was in love with the trade when it happened. It seems now the outlook on it is it was a terrible trade. I don't blame Griff for Bledsoe falling off a cliff. At the time, there were some of the major posters on here saying Bledsoe and Jrue were essentially a wash.
He did as good as any GM could have done with the Lakers trade. But I guess he had nothing to do with that.
The Adams signing and the SVG hire were bad decisions, no doubt. He deserves criticism for those moves. But he's owning up to the SVG hire and gets a chance to correct that.
I'm not some big Griff defender, I don't think I've made a post like this all year. But don't try and act like he hasn't done anything good outside of the Zion pick bc that's just not true.
