Why do you think he is maxed out? He is just starting to shoot 3's and he is at 31%, I don't think its crazy to think he could shoot above 35% from 3.

I think he is really solid for what we are paying him and for what his role should be (assuming we aren't decimated by injuries again)

We needed a big athletic 3 who can play defense and small ball 4. We got a 25 yr old one who can be much more if he can get his shot more consistent. He's 80%+ from the stripe and was solid from the corner when he was a starter (37% with 48% from left corner), so it's not like he's totally broken.
It's a gamble, but at least there is upside. Guys is athletic, versatile, high energy, and shoots 80+% FT.

It's a gamble, and not nearly as risky as what almost ever other gamble that's been reported today.

See Thrills post on when he actually got minutes. I understand that it's hard to be rational, he's not a big name or a sexy FA get. I'm not excited about it, but I'm not angry. I think he is the type of player we have to take a chance with.

The key here is his percentages from the FT line. I think he will surprise a lot of people with consistent minutes and some confidence.
As long as he can continue to hit open jumpshot, he'll be fine. Just enough for teams to respect him. I think he can do that.

He averaged 13 ppg and 7 rpg when playing over 30 minutes (32 mpg). 2 3PM, shot 56% from the field. At least use some context

I am strictly a realist who takes the facts at hand and tries to project the most likely outcome. I have no skin in the game. I win nothing if I am "right."
Solomon Hill's past says that the most likely outcome is that he will be a below average player. I couldn't imagine an argument that says otherwise that is supported by facts.
Now, could he all of a sudden catapult onto becoming an average to above average player? Sure, anything is possible. But as a realist, I deal with only the most likely outcome. And him being a below average player is clearly the most likely outcome

Everybody keeps comparing this contract to the old cap and it's really fricking aggravating.
A 2015 contract makes no sense compared to a 2016 contract. It never will. Guys are getting paid 50 to 60 percent more than what they would under the old agreement.

I'm pretty interested in the center you mentioned we were looking at, Ioannis Bourousis. He's a bit old at 33, but he had his best season last year. 14.5/8.7 in 25 minutes while shooting 38% from 3. LINK

Again, if the Pacers miss the playoffs last year and Hill gets no exposure, he gets between 2-5 million this summer and 2 years max. No doubt in my mind. He was no better than Ennis or Gee, outside of one series. Show me, with facts, anything to the contrary
