Delavadova proved he could play starter minutes in the playoffs. No offense, but Hill hasn't proven near half that.

And this year?

Are we talking about the same dellavadova that got benched in the finals for Mo fricking Williams?

If Lebron is on his team.

This fits my take a chance to get better narrative, although 12/yr isn't quite 5-8. Still cautiously optimistic.

What stands out to me is late in the season when his minutes went way up. Averaged 14mpg on the season, but in April:

29mpg
12pts
2ast
6.5reb
1.7stl
1.9to
48% 3pt%
54% FG%

He's not a high usage player at all.

I mean I'm not shitting myself in excitement over this, but this is the type of signing we have to make and hit on to turn the team's fortunes around.

PFT / NBC Sports seems to think we got a steal in him, especially since he is capable of kicking to the inside and play the stretch 4 if Davis is at the 5.

Given the kinds of insane fricking deals we've seen today, I would be inclined to agree.

OK I'll bite and whether you choose to believe my answer or not is of no consequence to me but I would have been in the B category depending on the team. Do I think he's a starter right now? Truly no. But, again, we haven't had a legit SF/defensive wing like this in awhile and he fits what gentry wants as he can be a small ball 4.

I do hope that we still go get someone that can be a small ball 5 as well to be more versatile. McAdoo is intriguing

D) Thought a decent player got overpaid because of the NBAs mistake of raising the cap so much in one offseason.

Eventually these contracts will level out in 5 years, I think the problem right now is teams have so much money and are looking to spend it leading to inflated contracts

Two different kind of players, this is the Era of a necessary 3&d SF at minimum to be competitive.

No playoff team fielded horrid wings as bad as ours last year.

I think it's a bit much for him, but whatever. I'll take it.
At least he's a young asset that is still improving, not James Posey.
He did decent enough in his second year in the league starting in place of Paul George last year. Would have like to see him be better this year off the bench. Not going to expect much from him, much like Buddy.
Hopefully they can both get better this year and we are building well for the future.

Chew on this though. We just signed a guy that's been in the league for 3 years, played just 14 minutes a game last year averaging 4.2 ppg, and he will make the same amount of money as Stephen Curry.

Don't forget Bazemore avg 5 ppg last year. It is possible for him to take the same jump.

Curry is notoriously underpaid thanks to his injury history.

This is meaningless though.

AD signed a 5 year extension worth more than LeBron's career earnings.

If he no showed in the playoffs like he did all season, what would he have gotten? 5 million? 6? If that?

You guys are all (well most of you) smart. You know about small sample size. Are you really going to talk yourselves into him based on one series?

I wish I could be excited, but man; this is not the guy. I hope I am wrong but the only evidence that says I might be took place in one series against one team

So in 4 years when the cap will have been over $100 million for 3 years will you finally stop thinking in CP3 era dollars? If they had kept the MLE pegged to the cap this is a slightly above MLE signing. You were right in referencing Posey except hopefully on the rise rather than the decline.

Dante has been given a bigger role and isn't able to step up. He has no one better in front him and is maced out as a player. The Pacers best player is the better version of Hill so he had no chance of carving a bigger role. When Gorge was out Hill stepped up. Its still a huge over pay but still room to be optimistic. I would have preferred Harkless for that money. It looks like we weren't getting anyone with out overpaying.
