Blazers really need to trade Dame and rebuild that team.

Honestly thats the right thing to do team building wise but Dame is loyal as they come. Portland loves him like nola loves Brees. They cant just blindly trade him regardless of what he feels- gives us honesty leverage in the trade.

I think Dame wants out secretly though, he just doesn’t want to come out and say it.

Then just secretly tell the team and ask them not to leak it. Chris Haynes speaks for him- i believe he wants to stay if they build a playoff contender if not he wants out. If he wanted out, they would have traded him by now.

Highly doubt Zion gets traded at this point...

best we can hope for is for him to stay healthy and to grow the frick up... his future value really is hanging in the balance this season... i hope, for his sake and ours, that he realizes this

Oh brother. We are going to lose this trade.

yep. scoot isn't worth a top 14 pick.

he's been playing professionally in a minor league.
against minor league defense he averaged 29% from 3. he had nothing else to do but practice basketball. 29%.

if you decide not to trust zion to be responsible or especially to not be injury prone you can get the more complete Thompson brother or the Villanova pf. and you probably get a first next year too.

no thanks. no scoot.
no damn learning to shoot.

and with 14 I want lively.
I'd throw in a 2nd to get up to 12 for him.

saw a mock with us getting Dick at 14... i'd be fine with that

Lively would be a good option as well

He’s been playing against grown men as a 17-18 year old kid his entire time in the gleague… I think some of y’all just look at numbers and not tape. He does so many things well I can wait for his shot to develop. The midrange is already there

Scoot shot better from 3 than either Thompson twin did against better competition.

Anyone else think that there has been a framework agreed to by Pels and Blazers and each team was told by the other not to leak it considering it would be dependent on Scoot being available at 3?

You expected a trade to be announced yesterday ?

If it’s Pels / blazers it won’t be known until the blazers are on the clock bc it’s dependent on Hornets not picking scoot .

It jus seemed odd that there was all the noise and then radio silence regarding both teams .

TBH, that sounds like a deal has been struck and they are shutting up to make sure it doesn’t get fricked upz

I think it's a 50/50 shot that a deal is agreed to in principle. Obviously, Char is the wild card. It wouldn't surprise me either way.

Charlotte may be the wild card but taking Scoot as a power play to try and get additional assets while still ending up with Miller is a dangerous game of chicken for the new ownership and Jordan.

Yeah. You start hearing other things like the Paul George leak and they are still negotiating. Radio Silence means they have nothing left to talk about.

I think at this point they may not have a deal but they both know what the other wants. If Scoot falls to 3 I would expect the phone call to be quick if both sides want a deal.

Just to test tolerance, is there any world where we would be ok with a deal based on Zion for Lillard? I know the age thing, I know the “we’ve seen Lillard and CJ”. But just for kicks, is there anything that makes sense? I don’t get the last part, as the Blazers were massively successful. And Bi would be the best player they have played with IMO. Blazers would walk away with Scoot, Sharpe and Zion moving forward. Maybe we get picks, I don’t know, just killing time here.

Problem was that the CJ/Dame backcourt kept getting abused in the playoffs when both were younger.

Jrue’s Wiki probably lists him as Dame’s daddy on his Personal tab after that sweep we had.
