Marc Spears dropped a nugget a couple hours ago that Dame has been to pre draft workouts and that he “communicates with Scoot” regularly.
A poster on the 1st page surmised that the “Scoot wants/would like to be in New Orleans”, quote was an attempted leverage play from Dame to help convince New Orleans to pull the trigger on a Zion for Scoot deal.
This extra layer of information (Scoot and Dame Communicating) does lead me to believe that Dame got the “Scoot wants to be in New Orleans”, scoop directly from Scoot. And then he passed that info to his public mouthpiece Chris Haynes and told him to spill it.

I do think Griff maybe a bit nervous and wants to see what charlotte does. Remember how everyone thought Jabari was going first, even fooled woj, and they got paulo. Griff might be waiting till hornets pick do go in hardcore with blazers.

If you look at the betting line movements….Jabari was the betting favorite for weeks, until less than a day before the draft. Then the line flipped to Paolo having plus odds hours before the pick took place. Shortly afterwards, Woj announced the Magic were preparing to take him about an hour or so before the draft.
Yesterday/early today the line on Scoot going number 2 overall went from +110 to -145. Miller had been the betting favorite for weeks until today.
Now this is usually Vegas trying to get money on both sides, but it is curious that the line would switch like that so suddenly.

I thought it flipped back to Miller after Wojs report though last night? I dont keep track of that stuff so I may be wrong.

They would be idiots to trade either Zion or BI for an unknown rookie. Just pick at 14 and roll with the team you have.

Yeah jusr checked Miller is now -500 according to Vegas and Scoot +200.

Like we do every year and then we bitch moan and complain when we dont meet expectations due to health, chemistry, etc. I want the team to consistently be good. There is nothing wrong in exploring that.

It changed back pretty dramatically after the Woj report actually. -500 on Miller right now, but it changed to Scoot -145 before that. My guess is Vegas trying to enough bets on both sides.

They aren't moving it that dramatically to just "even out the action"
The Woj report is the clearest piece of intel yet, I think Miller is rightfully the favorite but it's not a done deal yet

Also noticed all the local pels guys have gone dead silent now. Even national guys with the pelicans, not a word today. Either pels staying put or they’re in serious lockdown mode. Leaks now coming from blazers and dame seems like.

Charlotte could leverage it by taking Scoot, then looking at a three way where Portland takes Miller then trades his rights to them, while Scoot goes to New Orleans and Zion goes to Portland...pick compensation would round out deal, like
Portland gets Zion and Charlotte's 39th pick
New Orleans gets Scoot, Hayward, Portland's 23rd pick and Charlotte's 34th pick;
Charlotte gets Miller, Anfernee Simons, Nasir Little and N.O.'s 14th pick.

Pels guys haven’t said anything all week. Only thing that came out relatively recently was that “it is believed that Zion will not be available for trade and unlikely BI would be either.”

Again with so little time left- 3 way tradewill be really difficult to pull off. Like the trade but to me its between pels and blazers.

We aren’t sending out enough players for the draft picks coming back to us this year. Unless we are moving those picks for later picks.

Shamit and some of those other guys were constantly giving their opinions. They’re like real quiet now which is weird. Almost like they’re source gave them a gag order.

Jake has maintained on his pod all week it would be unlikely it would happen and has been doing his pre-draft evaluations on who we would take at 14. It could happen though…no one really knows for sure.

Link to actual article? He blocked me awhile back because he doesn’t like people having a different opinion than him.

Im sorry that guy is useless. He literally states the obvious and gives no inside info. Hes more interested in being popular with his pod then actually being a real sports journalist.
