Just to test tolerance, is there any world where we would be ok with a deal based on Zion for Lillard? I know the age thing, I know the “we’ve seen Lillard and CJ”. But just for kicks, is there anything that makes sense? I don’t get the last part, as the Blazers were massively successful. And Bi would be the best player they have played with IMO. Blazers would walk away with Scoot, Sharpe and Zion moving forward. Maybe we get picks, I don’t know, just killing time here.
We have very different definitions of massively successful.
That team was the epitome of purgatory. Never close to a threat to be a real contender. Not bad enough to reload.
Never ever ever trade young star for old star. It never works

Sounds about right, the Pels get fricked again. Tale as old as time.

To be clear, I wouldn’t do it. There would have to be a lot behind the scenes going on that I don’t know about and that would make us have to move Zion. And I would want picks, giving us more ability to load a trade for a center possibly.
The Trail Blazers made the playoffs every year and went to the conference finals the year after the Pels knocked them out. We are talking about success of which we haven’t come close to here. And IMO, this roster would have the opportunity to be way way better.

No, I would send Ingram and all the picks for Dame though. Dame obviously wants to play with Zion and hinge his career and championship aspirations to him, which means he believes he can motivate Zion to be the best version of himself. Add Dame while keeping Zion, CJ, Jonas, Trey, Herb, Dyson and i think we would be a VERY hard team to beat.
For reference i would offer:
Blazers: Ingram, Kira, Temple, #14, Pels 24 1st, Pels 25 1st, Pels 27 1st and if it requires it to beat another offer (wouldn’t happen) i would throw in 29 1st top 4 protected
Pels: Dame, Little
Obviously if I could get away with less picks i would, but if it took that many to beat a Brooklyn package I would add them.

An offense with Dame, CJ, Trey, Zion and Jonas would be absolutely filthy. I have no idea how they stop anyone, but fun team. Can’t imagine a piece better than Ingram would be on the table. Of course, it’s never that simple.

Is Dame to the Pels really feasible unless you accept being a 2nd apron team? He's going to be making about $60 million a year in 3 years. If a team is going to try and make Dame/Zion work, that seems like it would work out better in Portland for tax reasons.

No we aren't getting Dame, that isn't happening.
Maybe we can get in on some of these deals though and move parts around.

No doubt we are playing with funny money at that point. Seems very unlikely we would go all in like that. Which sucks on so many levels.

I don't even want Dame. He's old, injured a lot and has a bad salary and has proven he can't lead a team to the Finals.

Depends on how well you draft and sign minimum contracts.
Zion, CJ and Dame would account for approximately 80-83% of the cap (35% Dame, 25% Z, 20-23ish CJ as he makes less next year)
If Trey gets to around 25 million that would be 16-17% of cap, then that leaves us around 43.5 million in space to fill out the rest of the roster. These numbers are a little high also considering I’m basing this off this season’s cap, and as the cap increases the percentages will go down, so to answer your question yea it is doable, it would take a little maneuvering and guys wanting to come here on smaller deals.
Also remember, the money Dame makes is only 5% more of the cap than Ingram will be making on his next deal, basically a taxpayer MLE contract.

At this point, are we calling it jn trying to get Scoot at No.3 over or does this Dame stuff give pels more leverage for a trade for Scoot. Do Pels make one last ditch effort after the Hornets make their pick?

I can't remember where I read it but someone called the Dame trade talks would heat up today and increase our chances for Scoot.

Thats what I was thinking but Im getting the feeling now they rather trade Dame but weren’t saying it publicly.

I just listened to an insane Jake Madison show when he asked if we should throw in Herb with Zion in order to get Scoot.
Why did I subject myself to that?

That's insanity. We do that and I'm done with the team.

I got a silly question, do you think Jake talks like that in person? I feel like its such an unatural fake persona like hes audtioning for a role in a tv show or something.

How many other Nike players go there to rehab when their team is currently playing on one of the other two coasts?

Zion was never offered in trade talks. Woj reported it. So can we stop this nonsense.
You be crazy to think Portland or Charlotte will ignore us if he was on the table
