MM brought up trading for Siakam if the Raps decide to retool / rebuild a bit and you don't have the assets to get Beal. Would be interesting.

I"ve been thinking about that as well, if the Raptors keep struggling. I can't see them doing that though. THey'd probably be interested in moving Norman Powell though, and he's been shooting really well from 3 the last 2 years, and to start this year. Moving Powell would allow them to have some cap space next offseason with Siakam/VanVleet/OG as their core. They can get to $30M in cap space if they wanted to easily, but they need to get rid of Powell.

farting around with the trade machine trade of the day:
Pacers get Lonzo/Redick/Pel's 21 1st/21 Washington 2nd
Nets get Bledsoe/McConnell
Pels get Dinwiddie/Prince/Oladipo
Hornets get Melli/2nd round pick/s just to get his salary out.
that's a trade that can happen today, no waiting until February for recently signed players, and it also lowers the salaries just a tad of all 3 teams, with the Hornets absorbing that salary of Melli.

I think it's a bit risky with Oladipo, but if he fits well with BI, that would be a great tandem with Zion. You'd have Dinwiddie the following year, who would be a great addition. We then would just need our 3rd big, someone who can shoot, using the MLE since we obviously would'nt have cap space.

If you can get a 3rd star that perfectly compliments your other two potential stars then you go and do it.

Depth works itself out when you have 3 players like that...it always does.

Could get Ilyasova on the cheap after that deal

All that being said I don't think they move Lewis...not playing him actually helps because team's don't know...He'd be superfluous with Ball, Ish, Neto, Westbrook, and NAW for the Wiz.

I'd prefer to keep Hart but if he's the last piece they'd want to say yes I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Ball, Hart, Hayes, NAW, 3 1sts...not sexy on the surface but gives them immediate cap relief. Could flip Ball later in a sign-and-trade to get them the PG they want next to Westbrook, Hachimura, and Avdija.

maybe. I doubt they want Hayes when they have Bryant, and they have no need for Redick, although it was be easy for them to send him somewhere else for a 1st. If they liked Ball, he'd really be the only piece that's important to them outside of the picks. THey have no idea who Kira Lewis is b/c we havne't played him, so he can't hold much value at this point.

ATL has all their 1sts, and a bevy of young talent.

The Bulls could offer young talent and picks, and probably still keep Lavine, and would have a ton of cap space to use in the offseason, and they would like a lot more attractive with Beal/Lavine and Billy Donovan.

Remember Bryant just tore his ACL and his out the rest of the year and Lopez is only on a 1-year deal...Hayes could be their backup since I would assume they'll deal Lopez at the deadline when he's eligible.

Yep.

They'd be getting 2 years of Hayes for sure plus 3-4 more if they extend him as a RFA

Same for NAW who'd actually fit well next to Westbrook and the others

Ball gives them a guard now but would probably flip him later or we'd need a third team to send him elsewhere (Charlotte or NYK)

JJ and Kira wouldn't be in that deal

Could see Hart for wing depth but they have Brown (who is essentially the same type of player) and Avdija

Beal is just such a ridiculously good fit next to Zion and Ingram. Literally perfect.

Man, if Griffin had hit on any of our picks so far I would think we would be in the lead for him.

I agree, which is why i'd say i'd give them whatever they want outside of BI and Zion. I love Adams, but if that's what it took, i'd let him go.

didn't know that, well that would make getting Hayes more appealing to them then. And to be honest, i think Westbrook/Hayes pick and roll would be very fun to watch.

He has shot it well from 3 that pass two years but he has actually had a rough start to this season. He's only had 2 really good games which were the last two.

The rest went as follows:
FG
2-11
0-5
2-7
4-10
1-6
2-7

He's quietly had a JJ like start to the season but I expect him to shake back to his usual form.

Kings get Bledsoe, Hayes, Nets 21 1st, Pels 22 1st.

Nets get Redick

Pels get Beal, Prince, Bjelica

Wizards get Bagley, Lonzo, Melli, Pels 21 1st and Lakers 24 1st.

I remember everybody saying the same thing when we traded for Cousins. All you need is 3 stars..

well if BI or Zion or Beal ends up with basically a career ending injury, we'll be saying the same thing again i guess.

We didn't even give up a lot to get Cousins. Buddy and the 10th pick in the 2017 draft, Zach Collins. Big whoop. Outside of Tatum/Mitchell/Bam, that draft was poo poo. It's full of guys that want more money than they are worth, and a bunch more that simply aren't that good.
What makes you think we could have made the right decision drafting someone? outside of AD and Zion, we haven't drafted someone worth a shite since David West. If it was up to me, i'd say just trade your 1st round picks and do what you can to get 2nds in the 30's and just use those. Try to cheat off of teams like the Raptors and Heat and Spurs and see who they like and pick those guys.

I don’t think we can trade back to back firsts that belong to us. Unless we make that pick and then trade it during the draft.

We have the Lakers 22 first, so we can in this instance.
As long as you still have a 1st round pick you can trade consecutive 1sts. That 21st from the Lakers is likely a 22 1st b/c of the protection, so we can trade our own 21 and 22 1st, b/c we still have a 22 1st from the Lakers.

Where do you guys think our assets rank against these packages (pulled from Shamit / MM back and forth on Twitter)?:

quote:

Denver- Porter. Rest doesn't matter

Magic- pick 2 of the young players and a bunch of picks

OKC - better prospects on roster to offer and even more/better picks

Portland - McCollum to 3rd team gets a good haul, Simons to Wash

Warriors - Wiseman and whatever

quote:

Bulls....any number of young guys and picks.

Wolves - Edwards, Culver and picks

Again, we have no centerpiece. Most valuable thing we have is our picks which would get better with Beal

re: Ringer Article on Bradley Beal Sweepstakes (Pelicans Mentioned)
We obviously have a slew of picks.
Lonzo/Hayes/Kira are our best assets, and that ain't much, but it isn't nothing that's for sure.

We have more to offer than Denver with MPJ. most teams aren't interested in his baggage.

What two young players from the Magic? Isaac and Anthony? I doubt they hold more value than Lonzo/Hayes/Kira at the moment. If Isaacs wasn't hurt then you could make the argument. I would say we could beat any offer they present, or at the very least, equal it.

OKC, has tons of picks, but they aren't trading SGA away, so who's their best asset? Bazely? They have none. They aren't ready to make a trade for an allstar right now. They need another year or two drafting players. We can offer just as many shitty 1sts that they can.

Why would Portland trade McCollum away for Beal? if a team could get McCollum, why wouldn't they just get Beal? It makes no sense to me for McCollum to go to a third team in a Beal trade scenario. Is Beal really that much better than McCollum? I'd gladly be the 3rd team and take McCollum if this is insinuating he would take considerably less to get, but i just do'nt get how this 3 team trade makes sense.

Warriors have Wiseman, minny pick and that's about it b/c they can't trade away their own picks until 2026. I think we could beat that too, unless the Wiz really like Wiseman.

We can't beat a Bulls offer
We can't beat a Wolves offer
We can't beat an ATL offer
