I bet dollars to donuts this probably has to do with stan calling the team out constantly to the media, especially the high school team comments after the Knicks game fiasco.

Shamit just tweeted that, of course, a lot of players are going to miss the 45-minute practices that Gentry ran. How many guys enjoyed that our training camp was 100% focused on defense? Naturally, BI didn't like SVG riding him all year about his poor defense. Remember Redick's "joking" comments before training camp? We didn't hire a player's coach -- that was the last guy.

I have zero concerns about any of this. Griffin said in his press conference that the team needed more toughness, and he was right. The whining going on now is just more evidence of it. The roster construction in the future is going to get rid of some of these guys. We need a culture like Miami's, where the tough guys like Jimmy Butler want to play.

We lose Zion, Gayle might as well send the team to Seattle.

Duncan and Hollinger:

There is SO much smoke there that I believe the Zion situation is real. I don't want to get into specifics as I work for a news organization and I want to make sure its properly sourced. But I have heard it from a TON of people. I believe its true. Any time there is this many people talking about it behind the scenes, its generally real.

Listening to some of these exit interviews now...Hart said he had a "decreased role". Am I the only one calling bullshite on that?

Yeah, he didn't play a quarter of the season. I'd call that a decreased role.

Players need to have some damn accountability.

Yeah Shamit said it became clear this year who cares about winning and moves this off-season will be made accordingly.

I wonder if that comment is regarding BI. Given his lack of commitment to defense and questionable decisions in the clutch, it makes me curious if we get a surprise trade this summer.

2-3.

He signed for 5 years, they're not eating 4 years of a contract, unless Stan decides to leave money on the table to mutually part ways.

A few months ago my surprise meter would be at 10/10.

Now it would be maybe a 6. I am definitely not ruling it out. BI pissed me off a good bit at times this year.

If this is true the Pelicans need to blow everything up, and by that I mean completely overhaul the roster outside of Zion. Get rid of SVG. I don't care what gradiose plan Griff had for this roster but if Zion isn't buying in you trash it or you get trashed. Simple as that. You lose Zion and you lose your entire fanbase. We're not going through this with another star that we were lucky to have here.
Trade Ingram now, he doesn't work with Zion, never has, never will. Stop pretending it can work. Use everything you need to trade for someone that has a undoubtable killer instinct (i.e. CP3, Butler)

Same thing LSU fans said about Bo Pelini, then he was fired after one year.

I'm starting to doubt SVG is back next year. You just can't risk riding out this situation and having your entire team, primarily your two stars, this unhappy with the coach. Especially not when that coach is SVG.

Hiring SVG was a mistake. We need to fix this mistake now.

Alvin coddled these guys and Stan is too overbearing. We went from one extreme to another.

The way I view Griffin, he isn't capable of going this far. There will be some changes, some relatively major wins...but Griffin is an extreme optimist by nature, for better or worse. He won't go blow up

It’s also easy to get upset with a “tough” coach when you’re losing.

Winning fixes everything. Roster fixes winning.

Yeah the more I watch the more I buy into the narrative of it being too difficult to build a contender around BI and Zion. BI is just so, so bad on D. And Zion isn't going to be all world on that end either.

I'd love to get some of the Raptors' pieces on this team. OG, Pascal, or FVV would help to cure a lot of what ails this team.
