8 or 7 is theoretically possible but looking at schedules it’s unlikely.

If we lose out it’s possible. Bulls play the raptors and I’d be surprised if the Bucks play with their starters that last game against the bulls

Pacers already clinched a spot in the play-in correct? So they might rest against the Raps...

Just wanted to point out some ridiculous tanking.

The Rockets have won 5 of their last 47 games. They have 16 wins now.
The Thunder have won 2 of their last 27 games. They have 21 wins now. We were actually tied with this team record wise on March 23rd at 19-24 before this skid started.
The Cavaliers have won 4 of their last 25 games. They have 21 wins now.
The Magic have won 4 of their last 17 games. They have 21 wins now.
This Piston have been shitty all year. They have 20 wins now.
The TWolves are 15-18 in their last 33 games, 7-7 over the last 14, and have not only gotten themselves out of the worst record, but are sitting at the 6th worst right now with 22 wins, which if they don't get a top 3 pick, the pick goes to GSW, but to be honest i don't think they really care right now b/c Edwards is looking like a beast and Russell has come back and they are starting to find a little groove together to end this season on a positive note. I hope that the basketball gods reward their fight with a top 3 pick in the lottery.

The Bulls are 10-15 since acquiring Vucevic, and the earliest pick they can trade this offseason is 2025. They are a hot mess and are likely going to do something big this offseason.

Thunder

they openly tanked and its allowed, which is totally ridiculous to me.

legit benched al horford, a net positive player, because he'd get them wins.

This was wild. We got penalized for sitting AD (it worked out!) and they can just OPENLY tank.

And the Spurs have been fined twice for resting players for a game. I would love to hear Silver's explanation for why the rule applies to some teams and not others.

Lakers are going to play tonight without both LeBron and AD. They're playing the Rockets, so they will likely win anyway, but that's definitely not guaranteed.

I’d much rather the draft be randomized every other year then done in reverse the next.

Personally, I hope that the top 3 picks all go to teams in the East.

Last night's loss pushes us ahead of SAC in the draft order. The Kings have back-to-back games against the Grizzlies before ending the season against the Jazz.

The Lakers held on for a 2-point win against the Rockets, but the Blazers surprisingly beat the Jazz, meaning that the Lakers remain a game behind both Dallas and Portland in their race to avoid the play-in.

Y’all see that JJ liked an ESPN post that stated the Pels are eliminated from the playoffs? That’s next level petty.

Trying to understand this lottery process..

If we -- or the Lakers -- don't jump into the Top 4, we pretty much stay at where we finished in standings?

i.e. -- there's no way to jump from 9 to 6?

Correct.

Unless someone behind us jumps to the top 4. Then we can fall a spot, or 4 technically.

Look at this draft odds chart. LINK

The Pels are currently in 9th meaning they have a 50.7% chance of being 9th and a 25.9% chance of falling to 10. That means the most likely outcome is staying at 9 and the 2nd most likely outcome is having someone 10-14 jump them. The 3rd most likely out come is jumping into the top 4, but it's over 75% that you're 9 or 10.

JJ has legitimately become unlikeable the past few months. He acts like he is some superstar player in the league that should get to call the shots. What a fricking prick.

OK .. so the only outcome really is 1-4, 9, or 10

Technically multiple teams behind the Pels could jump up and they could fall lower than 10, but the odds of that are really low. So yes, 9-10 and 1-4 are what the Pels are looking at if they can hold onto 9.

and if the Lakers fall out of playoffs, we would add their odds to ours?

Anyone watching this Kings vs Grizzlies game?

Grizz are up 91-90 with 10 mins left in the 4th.

We really need the Kings to win this game, otherwise they are eliminated from play-in contention.

Welp, Kings led the entire 4th, only to fall apart in the final two minutes.

Kings lost and are now tied with us for 9th best lottery odds. Like us, they are now eliminated from the play-in, so they'll probably tank the last two games.
