I don't think this is the trump card you believe this is. It's a bad deal. Raptors made a mistake. Better us than them..

Okay, Mark. Great input, buddy

Teams make bad decisions all the time, doesn’t mean he is worth it.

I also remember definitive statements about a multi-year MLE deal to Greg Oden. NBA writers tend to sell a lot of bullshite for GMs and agents.
Even if they offered him $50m per year, was that $50m a one year deal with contract triggers? Then he throws out $40M, but Fisher says the offer was $35m per year. You mean to tell me Griffin was just throwing out wild arse offers that differ by 30%? It doesn't pass the smell test.

shite went side ways and got caught offguard by the new CBA. Then his agent and him turned down a 200m deal with Utah in a potential offseason trade.
What trade was that?

So I an looking at the Raptors roster for next year. The starting 5 is obvious (Quickly, Barrett, Ingram, Barnes and Poeltl). That is a decent starting 5. I don't think it top 4 in the East, but it's good, if healthy. The bench has a couple of nice young pieces in Dick, Agbaji, and Walter. They also have a lottery pick, that could hit big. Let's say they get a top 3 pick and get Flagg or Bailey. Are they still building around Ingram/Barnes? Are they really keeping the rookie on the bench? It's going to be an interesting offseason for them.
Also, no way they avoid the tax. Just those 9 players are over 180M total. They will easily hit 200M. So a definite tax bill for a playin team (at best)..

Spade a spade. They have a better roster than we do. I don’t think we are in any position to judge anyone as beneath us, with the exception of the Wizards.

Whatever. Front loaded 3x34 would have had him. Dude should be able to get similar in Toronto. However he’s the eldest veteran on the wing. Could own a spot simply on better % and teaching.

Nba radio guys questioning Ingram’s extension. Commented on how long he’s been in the league and how few playoff games he’s played.
Then discussed his lack of availability and compared him to Jalen green who they said may be less talented but actually plays.

Now let’s compare him to OG and Markannen who just signed larger and longer deals and have played less and don’t put up the numbers BI does.

And yet both had tremendous interests by other teams when they were on the trade block. BI, not so much….

OG also has a ton of playoff experience including being part of the Raptors’ title team.
BI has three playin games and two first round series losses.

I don't recall the Bulls or Toronto making out like bandits on those deals.
