I’m not down on Dyson
I merely provided a breakdown on why he struggles offensively and why we shouldn’t necessarily expect a 2nd year jump like Trey Murphy had offensively.

They're not remotely the same type of players. A jump from Dyson would be in assists, rebounds, defense, and efficiency.

Hence why the silence from the Pels during the Zion talk was so deafening. Someone tried to tell me that "No team on earth responds to trade chatter" during the Scoot situation.

Almost immediately it came out that BI was not on the table. Eventually it came out through sources like Woj that Zion was never offered and not likely moving. People just didn't want to accept that as the final answer because other seemingly legit people were implying otherwise.
Were they legit rumors though? Shams looks like he made his sponsor, FanDuel, a lot of money with the way he reported on the whole Scoot potential trade situation. I'm not saying he did it intentionally, I think it's just as likely Griff played along to get Thotgate out of the headlines. But Shams credibility has taken a bit of a hit with the way his reporting didn't pan out and seemed to benefit a big sponsor.

I think it's more simple than that. They wanted Hawkins all along and wanted to throw that scent off of them by making it sound like they were looking for a PG.

Just listened to Christian Clark's podcast, and he says that we've asked the Pacers about Myles Turner, and we were told that they aren't interested in trading him.

I don't believe anything Myles Turners related when it comes to the Pelicans. If we really wanted him, we would have made our bid last season early on in the season when Indiana was entertaining offers to move him.

According to rumors every year, we made a bid for him every offseason and every trade deadline since 2019.

Only reason i could see we would be calling on Siakam is we’re trying to get him to flip for another piece.
Could be still trying to get Scoot and Portland said “if you get Siakam for us we will give Scoot”

Why does Portland need us to get Siakam?
They could get him very easily with their own assets. The issue for them is sending out enough money. Simons has to go out. I can’t see where Siakam is worth Simons and Scoot.

They could also use a team like us and our picks to get Siakam for Nurk, Scoot and Sharpe, then use Simons and their picks in a second move to bring in someone else, say if Brooklyn decides to sell high on Bridges they have the assets to get him.
There’s a multitude of reasons why a team would want another team to use their assets to grab a player for them.

Siakam doesn’t fit the mold of a guy we need as a rim protector.
1) His salary is to high.
2) He plays the same positions as Zion and BI
3) He’s not a rim protector

Jonas is a huge liability if we want to be a serious contender.

JV has to be moved in my opinion. Outside of health it's our number 1 issue. JV and Zion do not fit together and we have been knowing this. You need a big who can run, block shots and get rebounds. We have enough scoring from the rest do the team. Average 10-15 a game on lobs and put backs. I don't pretend to know who that is/current availability but if Jarret Allen is truly being shopped then he is a perfect fit for this team. We can finally run the court like Willys offense is designed. Love Dyson but you have to have assets to get assets and Jl and Dyson for JV is a great deal for us. Find a vet guard to fill out the roster.

Drafting Dyson instead of Duren looks worse by the day. This is Griff's second biggest mistake to date, just behind trading down from 4.
Allen was hot garbage when it mattered, and we are going to be saddled with his large contract at the 5? And that means possibly trading an all-NBA level talent in Herb?
No thanks.
I'm with you on Daniels v duren and Allen.
+ they just signed herb long term.
I absolutely don't plan on Daniels learning to shoot.
or anyone. some never grasp the basics. too flat. and they don't ever learn a shot to put an arc on it. <==> Draymond lol. or they never shoot the same shot twice in their ignorant lifetime, always at some new angle and speed. the opposite of the patented move you can knock down like fts<=> Coleman Syracuse to gsw #3 first round. he also can't shoot ft. (they got #3 for mitch richmond who stepped back over the line out of bounds in one shot playoff games.<= boo.)
you see guys who never practiced layups. they don't understand how to use English on the ball or the backboard and how its different depending on which hand and which side you are on. but they can dunk. <==> naw.
