Multiple teams have reportedly shown interest in Cleveland Cavaliers forward Larry Nance Jr. ahead of the March 25 trade deadline.

According to Cleveland.com's Chris Fedor on Saturday, the Minnesota Timberwolves have "aggressively" pursued Nance since the offseason.

The Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans are also reportedly interested.

Fedor noted that while Nance isn't expected to be traded before the deadline unless the Cavs get "completely blown away" by an offer, teams have expressed more interest in him than any of their other players who are believed to be available.

Among the offers the Cavaliers reportedly received was a package including "multiple late-first-round picks."

I’d love to have Nance. He would be a really good fit imo.

But multiple 1st? Yeah, no.

Houston got 2 first for Covington, so you have to believe that is where the market starts.

We could use an actual 4 on this team

I’d trade multiple late 1st for him. What’s the point of accruing all these late picks if you’re not going to use them? Take your chances on the draft at pick 20+? Because those always work out.

For a contending team who's looking to complete their roster... sure. But I don't see how it make sense for the Pelicans if multiple picks are involved. I like Nance and all but I don't see him as a guy that moves the needle or one that's going to be more than a stopgap.

I’m not giving up multiple late firsts to pay a guy 12 million who backs up our best player. I like Nance, but he’s not vaulting this team forward and those are the players you need to be making major asset moving trades for

And we’ve gone over the stats before, but worth keeping in mind, late firsts can take longer to develop but the hit rate is around 40-50%. So if you know how to draft you can find very meaningful value in the later part of the first. For instance, OG Anonuby, Kyle Kuzma, Jarrett Allen, Derrick White, and Josh Hart were all found in the 20’s in the same draft. The year before that? Malik Beasley, Pascal Siakam, Caris Levert, Dejonte Murray.

Just this year you have Precious Achiuwa, Saddiq Bey, Tyrese Maxey, Immanuel Quickley, Payton Pritchard, and Desmond Bane that all look like solid to very good players found in the later part of the first.

We have a lot of bites at the apple coming up and if you can’t find multiple Larry Nance’s with those picks, Griff should be sent packing.

You assume that Griffin has an iota of a clue in drafting value which he has proven over and over again that he is a complete failure

What’s Langdon role if we are going to trade our picks? Isn’t he brought here to find draft gem players?

No, his job is to construct a roster, why would we say we can't trade draft picks because we have Langdon?

Cool let other teams do that.

Nance is a good player but multiple firsts seems like something a team closer to a run would do.

I have my reservations but he has brought in people(Gar Forman) who for all his faults, found a lot of good value throughout the draft. And I think Kira is very promising. So the tea leaves tel me Griff recognizes he needs to get better here and has made moves to do so.

But I don’t think, even if you don’t trust Griff to draft, that Nance is the guy you spend what Cleveland seems to want for a role player, which is more than two firsts.

The Lakers did an INCREDIBLE job drafting in those down years.

14 draft Randle, Clarkson
15 DLO, Nance
16 BI, Nwaba, Zubac
17 Lonzo, Thomas Bryant, Caruso, Hart, Kuzma

They drafted an entire roster of contributing NBA players in a 4 year stretch. Found multiple players in every draft.

And as much as I get frustrated with some of Griff’s “culture” shite, I think the Lakers are proof of how important that is.

I mean if they just kept their own guys that would be, on paper, a Pistons/Jazz style contender. Multiple all stars and just really good talent and depth everywhere.

I would start with the following and see where it goes

Pels: Nance
Cavs: Hayes, Melli, Late First

I would bring back Billy also. A front court of Zion, Adams, Nance, and Billy would be nice.

give them two of the Laker picks. After watching the Pels draft Jax and NAW I haven’t got any confidence in our draft process

I dont think Cleveland does that. They have the actual NBA version of Hayes in Jarrett Allen and he's up for an extension this summer.

Hayes was just young salary filler.

If Griffin uses even more draft capital to pick up a middling center then I’m done. Just freaking try to develop Hayes and see if we can trade Adams at the 2022 deadline and recoup a few seconds for him.
