you don't do right by AD,
What exactly is "doing right by AD"? The Pels have paid him literally the most money possible ever since he signed here. They have taken his input into decisions they made, made him the face of the franchise, etc. Now he wants to leave and requests a trade a year and a half before his contract expires. That's fine, he's letting us know early that he won't sign an extension, so we'll trade him to a solid destination. Where are the Pels not doing right by him?
Are they supposed to let AD dictate the timing and team they trade him to? Maybe we should just ask AD what players he wants included in the trade package. Wouldn't want him to miss out on playing with Tatum in Boston or Ingram in LA! Who cares about the future of our franchise?

According to Lakers fans, yes. Gayle Benson should be in jail for not sending AD wherever he wants.

Counter with:
Hey, AD and 2 unprotected firsts for Lebron. That's the best offer on the table therefore you must send him to us.
At Lebron's age, I'd counter with AD for Lebron and 2 firsts.

Davis house literally backs up to the MCC golf course. If he sat in his backyard on a Sunday morning he could probably find a dozen more qualified "agents" every hour as golfers approach the 12th green.

What's the NBA going to do now that it is out there in an official capacity that Davis wants out? The Pelicans are just benching a player who OFFICIALLY said he doesn't want to play basketball for this team anymore. Guys get benched for much less.
JR SMITH
hasn't played a lick since he said he wanted to be traded, and publicly stated he wanted to be traded.

There are multiple players that have gone on a sabbatical this very season due to conflicts with ownership/coaching. JR Smith, Melo, Jimmy Butler

I did think it was cool that Gayle visited the locker room last week, or whenever, and talked to the players face to face.

i'm all for it...send him home for "conduct detrimental" and let him (or his mouthpiece) face the music. it wont go well for him

Oh no doubt. The tampering is out of hand. Fining teams 100k is like fining them 2 dollars. They need to come down hard on teams like they do in the NFL.

Boston has been stockpiling for this exact scenario for years and they're going to be rewarded for it. The Lakers simply think because they're the Lakers and have Lebron we should just be happy with their bad assets. Sorry Magic, you failed

I love the vindictive approach from Gayle. It embodies what New Orleans is all about.
that would require us murdering lebron and possibly magic johnson

Then you look petty as a franchise. Your best player wants out so you're going to through a fit. They are doing the right thing. They won't play him again this season then they will trade him.

It's pretty hilarious that the only Laker top 3 pick from the last 5 years who looks like might be a legit all-star is DeAngelo Russell...who now plays for Brooklyn
Love it.
Love it.

basically. i said from the get go that since AD had another full year left, the Lakers were the ones at a disadvantage. that's why they made the move now, trying to force us to panic before the deadline
i'm pretty sure we're negotiating with the Celtics almost exclusively with the understanding that nothing can be done for a few months. they can't back out because other than the reputation hit, they have no other shot at a transcendent guy like AD

I agree. Also goes to show you doing a rebuild and sucking rarely works.
Hoping we get 3 firsts from Boston and trade at least 2 of them.

They likely miss out on two stars.
Kyrie may bolt without them getting AD.

Once Gayle makes a decision, never under-estimate that woman. She’s pretty tough.
