you cant be that vindictive in a league where players have the power... you don't do right by AD, good luck ever signing somebody else.

lebron and his puppet engineered all of this.
we are getting the exact response we hoped for - push back.
we are not going to have our arm twisted and be bullied into accepting 4 trash prospects for a top 5 player.
I love the vindictive approach from Gayle. It embodies what New Orleans is all about. Being resilient and not taking shite from other people (especially pompous outsiders).

Hahaha, we can send AD to Golden State for a bag of chips if we wanted..
The only way I see LA ending up with AD is if they go out and get other players and picks to send to us.. Their players won't cut it

All you had to do was read the statement they released on the trade demand.
It all but directly attacked the Lakers.
They are pissed as frick.

Cutthroat Queen B is the hero we all deserve.
Klutch probably picked a bad time to do this with how the Saints season ended. You know Gayle, Mickey, and Dennis are already salty as frick and looking for a fight

My second favorite thing from that article
basically affirming that the Celtics would keep their word if a trade was agreed upon in principle and also meaning that AD being traded to anyone else not named LAL and becoming a FA in 2020 puts the Lakers in a really really difficult spot this upcoming summer
suck it LA!

That's risky, though. If Boston promises that in absolute terms, the Pelicans would expect the Celtics to hold to that assurance. Reneging would damage Boston's leaguewide credibility in a way that could take years to repair.
To sign Davis outright in 2020, the Lakers would have to maintain enough cap space for him -- which could mean forfeiting the chance to add a star player this summer. The Lakers could sign that star free agent, and then sign-and-trade their young guys for Davis in the summer of 2020. Whatever the case, it's a complicated path to Davis.

Nothing will be addressed in the lockout. You cannot force a player to stay on your team. You cannot force a player to take more money.

He's talking about addressing agent tampering which is not covered and essentially has no penalties.

Maybe they should have considered that the majority of Pelicans fans, the owner, and the POBO are still seething about LA stealing our Super Bowl. Now they pull this shite and tamper with one of our players. They expected this power play to go over well?

One thing I read in that article is that Boston is reluctant to include Tatum...frick THAT. If Tatum is not the first thing out of Ainge's mouth, I ain't returning his calls either.

Also, for being a go along / get along kind of guy, AD is either a fricking idiot or a fricking tool. He just watched this city go through the NFL Ref shite and he springs this on us. frick him in his stupid count!
Posted on 1/31/19 at 11:38 am to saints5021
I would have thought Tatum was a guarantee.

That's just Ainge negotiating.
He's going to include Tatum. Its the rest of the stuff that is up for negotiation.

The best part? Lebron and Klutch look like fricking assholes now. They created a huge mess by taking this public and an even bigger mess by dragging the Pelicans through the mud in the media. There's a reason agents don't just eat 50k fines and take trade demands public.
This is 100% not in AD's best interest, and that's the part I hope Davis wakes the frick up and realizes at some point. Now, the team can likely ice Davis for the rest of the season. What's the NBA going to do now that it is out there in an official capacity that Davis wants out? The Pelicans are just benching a player who OFFICIALLY said he doesn't want to play basketball for this team anymore. Guys get benched for much less.

Just look at the posts on the MSB and here. Lakers fans are the most entitled people on the entire planet.
Entitled?
There were hardly any surprises.

Yea, but you can restrict the cap and make changes to the buyout market.

its not that hard...he has an injury.
and if he (AD) wants to play in the all-star game, he will have to face the music from the national media, who will be unrelenting
he made this bed

According to MM, it sounds like the Pels going in position is Tatum, Brown, Smart, and 3 1sts. According to that article it sounds like Ainge's initial stance is Brown, Smart, and firsts.
I'm sure they both realize they'll eventually land on Tatum, Smart or Brown, and 3 1sts, but both want to see if they can get the other to budge.

I don't even think they need to claim injury. Dude said he doesn't want to play for the Pelicans while under contract. Ride the pine like any other player that came out and said that in the national media.
