Completely agree.

Don’t let the loud minority get under your skin. At this point, the ones that call you out just what to get a reaction, MM

The info you provide drives a lot of conversation and gives a lot of insight. And anyone with a brain knows that just bc you hear something doesn’t mean it’ll happen

the specific people hired to fill these roles are less important to me than the fact that they are finally committed to filling them at all. There will be mistakes made, and that’s ok. Just make the mistakes at full speed and then learn from them

the player science and maintenance thing has me the most excited

I don't post a lot but I appreciate any info you give @crewz. I think most of us understand that these situations are dynamic and info can change quickly. Any info on inner workings of the franchise that we are all nerds for is interesting and appreciated. That said there will always be someone who will say something goofy about it so that's not going to change, but the vast majority of us enjoy anything you've got.

Again, they are not under my skin. This is an incorrect assumption many of you keep making.

My lone issue is I want to talk basketball and basketball only. But without fail, whenever I try to do that, the idiots come and then you guys come to defend me, they come back, etc.

It is not a "feelings" thing. I purely want to give you guys some info occasionally, with you guys knowing that just because the Pels are trying to do X, it doesn't mean X will happen. Then, we talk basketball. Not about 'Crewz' -- How does THAT get accomplished?

I like your insight and knowledge of the game off the court and appreciate the posts.
Can't wait for feedback during the combine.

Do you still do podcasts?

There have been other posters on this site in the past that picked up thread derailing groupies so honestly I don't think that is going to change. All we can do is ignore them when they don't keep it on topic and RA them if they get out of line. It's a don't feed the troll kind of situation, and that applies to your defenders maybe moreso than you.

I don't and I barely write any more. Like I said, it just stopped being fun. I even have to change twitter accounts every few months because when people find out, it becomes miserable.

Everybody's advice is to "ignore" but literally nobody on here ignores the 1 or 2 random times a year they are attacked, called a liar, etc. But its easy advice to give.

Cool - then how about this compromise -- NONE of you guys defend me. And I won't respond either. They post their nonsense and NOBODY responds. Deal?

How can any of you talk about basketball, when Endgame and the Battle of Winterfell are this week?

That is the real question.

I can’t speak to how others will post, but I’ll just stop engaging in the back and forth completely

Unfortunately there is no fix to this problem, only minimizing it. And everyone involved needs to realize 5 people defending you derails a thread too. Don't defend, Request Admin. We got a callout thread whacked the other morning, so somebody gets an alert in their inbox when we hit the RA button. If the same people keep getting RAd for low quality posts they might get told to dig themselves.

I am not even calling for admin. If you guys all just ignore, the threads won't derail. I think that is an awesome compromise

I'm interested to see how much of a new team Griff can put in place prior to the lottery, combine, and draft.

He's obviously got to rely a good bit on the existing scouts. That's partly why its interesting and essential to bring in someone like Redden, someone that is already with another team, knows their scouting reports already, and has done a fair amount of that scouting himself.

There are services that you can subscribe to that can catch him up. Even the smartest teams use it as a supplement to their scouts. There is also a lot of information sharing done around the league and freelance scouts who can be hired as consultants.

He should have Redden in place before the combine and those guys will attack that week. Dell and Ferry have also been great in sharing any info they have. The key will be those interviews at the combine and when he brings guys to work out. Sounds like he has learned his lesson from the Bennett fiasco and he will value those meetings

That's good but he shouldn't value them too much. That's how we ended up with Dell having a $50 million obsession with Solomon Hill.

This right here is what I want the most. Adaptable and learning from past mistakes. Understanding sunken cost. I think if he can do those things in concert with how he is rebuilding the front office we all can be pleased.

It's not about the names, to me. It's about the structure and the growth in its various forms. That's the positive.

shades of jeff bower. They are a great supplement but nothing replaces good internal scouts and instinct.

The problem is he DID meet with Bennett many times from my understanding. He was actually their guy on the ground there with Bennett. But maybe then he didn't know what the right questions were, and now he does.
