Sounds like Michael Jordan in that respect.

He sees talent but figures everyone has the drive to succeed. Most players don’t have the work ethic he did.


From an LSU fan’s perspective, this is the difference between Shaq and Stanley Roberts, who were both excellent big men on the team at the same time.

Shaq had work ethic thanks to a drill sergeant stepfather and, generally, kept himself in shape until the late days of his career.

Stanley? Not so much. Kicked out of LSU for drinking in the athletic dorms. Europe for a season before the NBA draft but failed a drug test for some kind of supplement he took during that time. Shipped out from Orlando to the Clip Show when the Magic got Shaq in the lottery, and it was all downhill from there between being on a shitty team, using drugs, and gaining too much weight by eating junk food.


If you asked me in about 1990 which of the two would be in the HOF and which would be a bust, I’d have put Stanley in the HOF because he was pretty much a modern stretch 4 in the body of a center back in the days where the center was the focus of a team.

There is literally no risk if you said it exactly as you stated, you're playing dumb for some weird reason.

But as I pointed out, and Bunch agreed, you take credit for shite by going out of your way to tell make sure everyone knows you called something correct when no one is even questioning it, like you did with Griffin. But when you say Ferry got the job and are posting about when it's going to be announced, and you get called out on that, instead of manning up and saying you got it wrong, you crawfish your way out of it with some dumb posts that do nothing to help your cause.

Incorrect. I don't want appreciation. I want people to never mention me (good or bad) in a personal context. Lets just talk basketball, instead of derailing threads with convos about me. Thats Shells issue. There is a misconception that I don't like debate and disagreement. That couldn't be further from the truth. Its what I like the most. But about BASKETBALL. Not about whether I am a jerk or not, etc. Thats pointless and derails threads. Go look at Shell or Upperdecker's last 200 posts. Write two columns and log

1) Number of times they made an intellectual point about basketball
2.) Number of times they talked about "Crewz"

Number 2 will win by a 10 to 1 margin. THAT is what I seek to change, and what we all should seek to change

I'm sure I'll get accused of derailing the conversation but, Someone who constantly sets themselves apart from (and above) those they communicate with and to the point that they have an "elite" area, where only those of their choosing my enter.
