You guys need to stop listening to Macnamara who thinks BI is some terrible asset. He just shits on everything
He’s just still upset, he was pretty high on BI and was pushing for a Lakers package over Tatum and Brown.

Lavine
BI is better than LaVine in 2024. The only thing LaVine does different is shoot more 3s at a slightly lower percentage. As far as that goes, he produces less points in more fga than BI. BI has significantly more assists and a slightly higher TO% (better a/to).

Ainge does this every year. He overprices his assets similar to Masai in Toronto. I think they would prefer to keep Lauri while adding a star. Thats not going to be easy. The only other assets worth anything on that team are George and Kessler- and not really sure how much a team would give up for those guys. If Jazz really want to make a splash this offseason, they have to lower the price for Lauri.

Nonetheless, I've shown evidence of folks who think Allen is better and has more trade value.
I showed you 15 guys who defend against their opponent the same or better than Allen playing the 5, and there were a few who are very easily attainable for us for a lot less than giving up Herb.
You’ve yet to show me one guy that does what Herb does at his cost.
And I showed you my opinion, which is just as similarly worthless as Bill Simmons.

You said you'd like to see how others basketball media types value the 2. I gave you examples, then you changed course and said the literal opposite, that you no longer cared what those same types of people whose opinions you originally said you were interested in... because their opinions ran counter to yours.

No. You gave me one guy and his opinion which is clearly not some end all be all, especially considering his ridiculous opinion on some of the guys he had higher than Zion.

Did you look at the player rankings? Those are not solely from Simmons, they are a composite of 6 different guy’s rankings. They have Allen at 48 and Herb at 69. But I guess you don’t value any of those other opinions either.

doesn’t extend BI, trades him and puts Trey in the starting lineup.
I agree somewhat with you brmark 70816. Until Murphy has a mid-range game and can get his own shot, you still need BI services. The only way Murphy thrives in the starting line-up is to 1) get a pass first point guard and 2) hire a coach who actually runs an offense, where the ball moves.
All that so-call dancing by your previous point guard is utterly ridiculous, the poor guy tired himself out so much that he couldn't play defense.

I think my dream offseason is flipping BI for Garland. This only happens is cleveland realizes against boston they need more wing creation and to move forward with Mitchell as the lone small guard.
Then flip CJ to Orlando for WCJ. This one I think is semi realistic. Orlando desperately needs shooting and offensive creation and have the defense to cover up for CJ. They have a ton of cap space this offseason but arent really a destination market. If they miss out on their top targets maybe they circle CJ.
Garland/Herb/Trey/Zion/WCJ seemingly fits like a glove but I'm definitely dreaming about the possibility of this

Garland isn’t necessarily my preferred point but moving BI and CJ in separate deals makes the fit better.
Garland’s problem is defense and moving BI and CJ means we have length and/or defense in the lineup to offset his liabilities.

of course not. they don't go with what i'm saying.
but in all seriousness, i appreciate Shell finding something that proved what he said right.
I should also add that what Minny did last night defensively without Gobert, should give you an idea of what's more important, perimeter defenders with length or rim protectors, b/c they didn't have any rim protectors last night except KAT and Naz and neither one of them can jump or contest shots like Gobert.
Good defense starts on the perimeter.

No. You gave me one guy and his opinion
You were given a composite rankings from the same media types you asked and stated you'd be interested to see.
But even though you got essentially what you asked for and what you stated you'd be interested to see, the moment it didn't agree with your opinion, you stated you didn't care about those same opinions you originally said you interested in

Shamit is shipping Garland to us but despite it making sense, we never do the smart thing as an org

Trae young is no longer with clutch sports. He has signed with Zion’s CAA agency. Hmmm.
