re: Hot take: CJ Should Stay

I was hoping Hawkins would take that next step and could fill CJ's role next year.

TeddyP, I'm not sure Hawkins can ever fill CJ role. CJ gives you some of everything from shooting, playmaking, assists. He falls short in the area of defense (Probably because he exerts so much energy on offense, dribble, dribble) and thinking he has to be the one to save the ship.

Hawkins don't seem to make anyone better on the floor, just spot up shooting or mid range shooting that is sometimes good, sometimes not.

He's a dude who has averaged 20ppg for 12 years straight, still going strong, and only 1 year left on his deal after this one.

20 points a game on a bad team, is not the same as 20 points a game on a good team.
What if we started BI and Trey, and brought CJs arse off the bench?

That's a great idea. Why don't the organization see that?
He'll probably get his shite together somewhere else

Exactly, the so called superstars like Zion, CJ, Murray don't respect Willie Green. I still think they have alot of talent and if the right coach would show up, they could turn those guys into productive leaders.

CJ HAD 39 SHOTS TONIGHT?????????????????????

Willie is scared of CJ. Lets him do whatever, whenever including taking a large volume of shots and bad shots at that. Oh by the way, Dejaunte who doesn't score well at all is also taking more shots than your best player TMIII.

Trey hasnt had a shot all 4th quarter

I wonder why?????????
But the more I watch this team this year the more I wanna rebuild without griffin and green. Give the next regime a chance to decide on this core

Been said that. If your leadership and coach has no fire, your players won't have any fire either.
Trade CJ, Zion, BI, DJM. tank and draft high, profit (?)

What is the common denominator here? I will tell you, it goes back to culture, culture, culture. All of the guys mentioned above were treated like allstars from day one. With that said no one held them accountable for anything so they do what they want to do. SMH
Someone tell me why CJ goes to the rim against bigs like he's Westbrook

Little man complex that he brought to New Orleans and Willie lets him do it.
SUPERMAN TO THE RESCUE!!!!!!
Lol CJ won the game for us and was super clutch last night aside from one missed ft.

CJ is a ball hog, who played well, but continues to think he is the #1 option.
You're either a weak troll or an idiot. I can't decide

You are a clown. CLOWN.
But it isn't a cultural thing like you've tried to state. Zion being out of shape isn't the orgs fault. It's Zions fault

The "Org" should make his fat arse get in shape, but they don't because just like Willie they only shout at players on the low end of the spectrum.
Yeah this is some fricking bullshite too. You must've been asleep for the past three seasons.

Players around the league constantly say they don't want to go there and play. Coaches, before Willie Green, Jaque Vaughn turned down a job to go there. So say what you want the culture is horrible.
Our 2024-25 team payroll is just north of $174 million.

It always starts at the top. First start with the owner, then Griff and finally get to Willie. No one wants to play for the pelicans, coaches don't want to coach the pelicans. You have a really bad culture problem there.

Please fire the entire Pelican Organization, including the coach. This is ridiculous. Should probably threaten to move team out of New Orleans as well.
I like Boston but you do realize we have lost almost every game the more minutes hes gotten right? There probably is a good reason for that. He deserves some minutes but we shouldn’t be moving real NBA starers/scorers for Boston.

I agree with you on that. But you have to look at the amount of money CJ is getting in comparison to Boston. Also, let's look towards the future, Brandon Boston has many years to play, CJ may have 1 to 2 years if he is lucky.
Jose is 26 lol. What are you talking about?

The old guy is CJ
I think you move Jose finally. He has reached his peak potential and might as well sell while maximizing his worth. That clears the way for Boston to play along with CJ and Hawk on the perimeter.

You move on from the old guy. Doesn't have much left to give.

Whats scary is what hes doing offensively. I had no idea he could do that. Still a long season though but if this continues hes much better than Herb and pels may have traded the wrong defender. And I love Herb.

Actually you should have shipped CJ instead.
Can we make that offer to the Hawks?

Dyson is balling. Good for him.
