For what it's worth, the channel is live and functioning. I did a re-scan with my antenna this morning and it showed up.
As for the people complaining about the antenna, just go get one. It's something you should have anyway for when the cable goes out. If you can afford cable, you can afford an antenna.

Cool, move out of the three state area and get NBA league pass, problem solved

Antenna + Tablo (WiFi compatible) or HD Homerun (Ethernet only) = Record Pels games
How do you like the Tablo? I just bought a AirTV Anywhere from sling because it supposedly can be accessed on your phone anywhere. However, it has been buggy in terms of setup (can not use iOS) and then if a OTA channel doesn't send "guide" information with it you can't tune into the channel even though it is there.
May return it and go with the Tablo, but I know that is only accessible inside the home.

The problem solves itself with watching less Pelicans games, but isn't this whole thing about adding viewers and not actually losing viewers?

My dad has one and loves it. He's in his mid 70's and he said setup was a breeze. I have the HD Homerun as I have ethernet drop right next to the Box. It works very well.

We leveled down on sideline reporter hotness.

From the NBA.com article last month:
quote:
The distribution agreement with Gray Media will make Pelicans games available to 4.1 million households (nearly 7 million viewers) throughout Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, quadrupling the number of households that will have access to watch Pelicans games.
Not to mention, it's free with the antenna. If you want to go another route, you can do the streaming option (which is what I plan on doing).
Those is Laffy will get an option as well I'm sure.

Say it again and even more people will remain uninterested in buying a TV antenna in 2024.
More people have antennas now than they have in a long time because of cord cutters. Pretty common now

The few people that I do know with antenna's are old heads that aren't interested in watching the Pelicans all that much to begin with. The vast majority of people stream.

really?
The cost like $30.
No one said you need to mount it on your roof and connect it to every tv.
pick a tv close to a window, get a mohu leaf and stick it in the window, preferrably one that is open to the direction of your local antennas, and there are apps that show you where the antenna is.
I understand for some people, it's not that easy though. Living in Baton Rouge or New Orelans, it is that easy. Living in Houma, maybe not so easy and you actualy do need a good antenna and one likely outside on your roof.
The bigger issue here is for instance in Baton Rouge, channel 9.3 isn't in HD. You can't even watch the game on this channel b/c it's so fuzzy looking. I think there's another duplicate channel that is in HD, but the signal for it is extremely weak. the picture quality is so shitty that i'd rather listen to the game on the radio than watch it on tv.
For the games that were OTA in Baton Rouge, I went to Streameast on my phone and mirrored the game to my tv, that's how shitty the OTA option was for me, someone who has a attic mounted antenna for the last 10 years, as well as two mohu leafs in a window, and it was a better option for me to mirror an illegal stream onto my tv then try to use the free OTA option.
