Ahead of NYK, PHX, DAL in that order.

They became the first team in the past two seasons to win back-to-back games without scoring 100 points in either game and the first this season to hold their opponent to fewer than 90 points in consecutive games. Lopez

Well I appreciate the positive spin by Lopez. The fact is though we played the blazers and grizzlies and barely survived.

Let's not overreact to what ALL good teams will experience in a season.
Long road trip... Expectation to defeat lesser teams. Control game and take foot off the gas... Looking forward and planning for ALL Star vaca...

A tale that is as old as the League itself. We won the games. Move on.... See ya after the break when its time NOW to lock in....

In the past 2 weeks, Portland has beaten the 76ers and the Bucks.

Memphis always plays us hard.

Also, wasn't the big knock on this team was that they can't finish out close games?

I want to see us hold Booker under 50 in a Pels win before ranking the Pels higher than Phoenix.

Not surprised. NYK has been on a losing streak as of late, Dallas was under .500 in December, and Phoenix is probably the only team that you can arguably claim to be as good or better than the Pelicans right now.

If you watched both of these games we blew big leads heading into the fourth. Did we eventually win? Yes. Did two of the worst teams in the league miss wide open shots in the clutch as well? Yes. Our so called clutch wins have been against the grizz, blazers and spurs. We won but I really hope this team gets his head right after the all star break.

If we struggle again tonight be ready for...

"Joel, the first game back home after a long road trip is always an adjustment."

"These guys are professionals too even if they're not household names."

I'd love for us to feel like a dominant team again. We had a glimpse of it in December a couple seasons ago and then before that you have to go back to Davis-Cousins having that great 2 week stretch. Then before that all the way back to 2007.

We always feel like a very good team that is on the verge of a breakthrough that never comes

If we win tonight, it’ll be the first time since 2008-2009 that we’re 10 games over .500 entering the Allstar Break. Everyone on this board needs some perspective.

Some of us are frustrated with a handful of games we should have won, which would make us a comfortable top 4 team.

But agreed perspective, we're in a good spot. We need to maintain health and go into playoffs healthy and see why we can do.

If December 2022 never happens with Zion I think we'd all be very excited.

Problem is, this team got more out of Zion over a year ago. This year he's regressed. It's as simple as that. Ingram has been above or near his averages as a Pel. CJ is having a career year. Zion not being ready out the gate has pissed a lot of posters off, myself included.

If you got December Zion this year on this team outsiders would say we're a Finals level team

December Zion + our relative health = huge problems for the rest of the NBA.

just being realistic I don’t think any contending team in the west actually fears the pelicans in a series, except possibly the kings. Certainly not the suns, mavs, wolves, thunder, clippers or nuggets

I’m not sure where all this “problem for the league” bravado is coming from. They would be underdogs in any series against any of those teams and rightly so

Pels are 10 games over at ASB with 28 left and basically will swap TM3 for Dyson from the beginning of the year. Pels need to show improvement and health across the board to get a home series.

they very well might beat either or both but they wouldn’t be favored by much if at all depending on seed.

Mavs would have the two best players
Thunder would have the two best players and maybe the three best

0-1, 2-2, 2-2, 1-1, 2-1, and 1-2 against these teams.

We’ve been competitive against all these teams. I like our chances in 7 games against any of them.

Not to mention we’re 1pt away from being 3-1 against the Wolves.

Well, based on the hypothetical you quoted, we don't have even close to December Zion, so yes you are correct.

Even if that were true (and I definitely disagree), their best player is likely to get nerfed pretty hard in the playoffs, so I’ll believe it when I see it from Shai.
