How likely do you think it is that they actually trade for Lin?

He and Rubio were always the most attainable of all the names we kicked around. Demps tried to sign him before and for the most part you're not adding salary but converting non performing salary into a starter. I think the odds are pretty high or we'd have seen more happen than Jrue and Darius Miller this offseason.

Getting closer to the 48 hour mark of adding that 4-7 guy that Crewz floated.

Pretty sure he's wrong on that one.

Wasn't that yesterday? That means another day. But if Brooklyn is the trade partner they may have put Dell on hold.

He's been relatively quiet today other than his string of tweets concerning Reggie Jackson

Message is clear to Brooklyn now: Washington's matching Porter's $106M offer sheet, and Nets soon back on market with space to pursue KCP.

If KCP tells them this yes Lin HAS to be dealt, right?

I don't know about "has" to be dealt, but it would make sense to move him for a pick. They don't have a pick in 2018, and are obviously trying to rebuild. A 2018 first round pick is worth more to them, than another year of Lin.

I'd assume so. Makes sense

Like TigerinATL said, if Lin is the guy, then the Nets are tied up until the Wiz match Porter.

We would need the Wiz to match and then the Nets sign KCP, then trade us Lin. That's how I think the dominoes would fall.

Trade dead assets (Asik/Ajinca and literally Qpon) and a pick for Lin and I think it makes for a nice offseason.

I mean they'd have KCP, D'Angelo, LeVert, and Kilpatrick (who they love)...Lin is obviously better than the majority but at his price it wouldn't make sense to hold on to him

Ajinca would actually serve a purpose for them as they don't really have a backup big...Justin Hamilton is their backup 5 and he's not very good and then you have Jarrett Allen who is very young

Would love it if it were Asik instead of Ajinca. Ajinca is actually serviceable and at a decent price.

Agree. I seriously doubt we'd be able to move Asik, but I think Ajinca and Qpon with the first rounder get it done.

Lin is not part of the future in Brooklyn. This deal would reduce their payroll by $3MM this season, $7MM next season and get them a first rounder and I'm sure Ajinca would be in the rotation over there.

I think we all would...maybe they'll take both and a 1st but I doubt it

Jrue Holiday's 5-yr deal (PO last season) w/New Orleans starts at $24.67 mil, ramping up to $26 mil @BBallInsiders

That's both good and bad. The good news is his 5th year is only $26 million which is more tradeable than $29 million. The bad news is that's $3 million more this year than I was expecting and $3 million more closer to the tax.

the hope is i guess that he opts out of year 5...but he will be 32 then. the problem is clearly the years, that dont mesh up with davis (currently) or boogie (potentially)

Didn't we all think it started at 21??

Well...shite.

Dell has to have SOME kind of plan to avoid the tax and add talent one would fricking imagine.

seems like the pels know their window may be the 2019-2020 seasons.
