Oh for sure I'm down for Miles as well but somebody like that will require MLE type money which is all we have; so after that this offseason is a wrap minus a BAE signing and a few more roster fillers.

A lot of playoff teams actually.
Here are the WC playoff teams last year:
San Antonio's best 4:
Kawhi 5.2 (38.0%)
Green 4.9 (37.9%)
Mills 4.4 (41.4%)
Ginobili 3.3 (39.2%)
Houston's best 4:
Harden 9.3 (34.7%)
Gordon 8.8 (37.2%)
Anderson 7.0 (40.8%)
Ariza 6.9 (34.4%)
Not including:
Williams 5.6 (31.8%)
Bev 4.3 (38.2%)
LA Clippers's best 4:
Reddick 6.0 (42.9%)
Paul 5.0 (41.1%)
Rivers 4.0 (37.1%)
Crawford 3.9 (36.0%)
Not including:
Mo Speights 3.4 (37.2%)
Utah's best 4:
Hood 5.2 (37.1%)
Hayward 5.1 (39.8%)
Hill 4.8 (40.3%)
Ingles 3.4 (44.1%)
Not including:
Joe Johnson 3.3 (41.1%)
OKC's best 4:
Westbrook 7.2 (34.3%)
Oladipo 5.3 (36.1%)
Abrines 3.6 (38.1%)
Morrow 3.0 (29.4%)
Memphis' best 4:
Conley 6.1 (40.7%)
Daniels 5.3 (38.9%)
Carter 4.1 (37.8%)
Gasol 3.6 (38.8%)
Portland's best 4:
Lillard 7.7 (37.0%)
McCollum 5.5 (42.1%)
Crabbe 3.8 (44.4%)
AFA 3.5 (32.9%)
and here are the top 4 of Minnesota's:
Teague: 3.1 (35.7%)
KAT 3.4 (36.7%)
Butler 3.3 (36.7%)
Wiggins 3.5 (35.6%)
Not a single one of them break 37% and the highest attempts a game is wiggins @ 3.5.
Of the playoff teams, Wiggins has more or equal to another playoff team's 4th highest volume.
SA: Ginobili @ 3.3
Utah: Ingles @ 3.4
OKC: Morrow @ 3.0
Portland: AFA @ 3.5
While the remaining top 3 combine for:
SA: 14.5
Houston: 25.1
LAC: 15.0
Utah: 15.1
OKC: 16.1
Memphis: 15.5
Portland: 17.0
Those teams top 3 shot MORE attempts and had better or comparable %s than Minnesota's current 4 COMBINED (13.3).

What concerns me is Quin made that team into a slow-pace efficient team. They might be able to purely grind it out better than most teams and win games.

Wow. Remember when 33% was considered to be good?

Why would you trade Asik with a 1st when that doesn't really net you any cap space, nor are there any free agents worth as much as those that can be obtained through trade? If you're trading the 1st, it needs to net an asset. Using the first to dump Asik would be stupid.

its a lot of words and numbers, but as a team they just don't shoot many 3's.
Last year they were dead last @ 21.0 while being 20th in percentage.
But the thing is, they were still efficient when taking shots. They T-11th in points per shot. The thing is, they will still run into that issue this year.
LaVine was by far away their best shooter 6.6 attempts, 38.7% and Rubio was arguably their worst 2.6 attempts, 30.6%, yet they still combined for 9.2 attempts and shot 37.0%

I was saying that just 20 years ago, any player shooting 33% from 3 was considered a good shooter. Hell, Reggie Miller was 40% and he was one of the best of all time and considered elite while he was playing.

Meh. The guys that everyone was after just went elsewhere - doesn't mean we didn't try. New Orleans will never be a prime free agent destination over a powerhouse like Golden State, historically great teams like the Lakers and Celtics, prime baller spots like Miami, etc. And even those teams didn't get everyone they wanted. Swaggy P would have filled a need at a price we could afford - he just chose a ring over us. Can't blame that on Dell. I don't ever expect to win a championship because this is the NBA and we are the New Orleans Pelicans. I do expect a viable team that's fun to watch who can have a shot at winning a round or two in the playoffs. And with AD, Boogie, and Jrue here, that's a pretty solid base that plenty teams would love to have. All we need is a few role players, and I'm sure we'll fill those spots once the smoke clears.
The main reason we don't have any of the necessary pieces to make a huge move is because we made that HUGE move last season. And by we, I mean Dell.
ETA: I've let huge expectations ruin LSU football for me. The first game we lose, I'm like, "Frick, no natinal championship, the season's over." I'm not going to let that mentality ruin the Pels for me. I'm staying realistic.

One rival league source plenty skeptical about Crowder sign and trade to Jazz potential: "That's not gonna actually happen. Stay woke."

If I were a betting man, I'd bet on Pels making a move to add a guy who will be somewhere between 4 and 7 in the rotation in the next 48 hrs
MM thinks Bledsoe > Jrue, so I'd say that means Phoenix wasn't interested.

So we are going to sign someone better than instant grits and solo. Sounds difficult.
Posted on 7/6/17 at 8:18 am to TigerinATL
The only people I could think of would be maybe Lin, Smart...maybe Hardaway if Hawks aren't interested in keeping him or Bogdanovic (doubtful)? Miles?
Maybe I'm aiming too high here?

Marcus Smart. And the signings become official in 48 hours so Boston needs to clear the cap space.

I feel like pretty much anyone signed with the MLE or acquired by trade will fall into the 4-7 spots on this team.
Davis
Cousins
Holiday
Moore
Hill
Crawford
Diallo
Ajinca
Asik
Qpon
It doesn't take much to be better than Diallo, Ajinca, Asik, and Qpon

Miles would fit, but based on the way Atlanta has changed directions, I wouldn't rule out Bazemore for Asik. However, Bazemore makes $17 which is an uneven enough trade to make you unable to use the full MLE or bring back Cunningham without getting into the tax.
I know there are some people that really love Hardaway here. Do you love him enough to give up a 1st? Like Asik + 1st for Hardaway + 2nd and then give the 2nd to Indy to take Ajinca and QPon for a CJ Miles S&T.

Signings can become official today at 11am. That doesn't mean that all of these deals that were agreed to have to become official at that time.
