You can look at it like that. Or we can look at it that we have all of our coaches back, signed Chris Finch to shake up the offense, and retained our main contributors from last season Jrue, AD, Boogie, Moore, Crawford, and Solo (and possibility Cunningham?) who are all healthy this offseason instead of rehabbing.

Maybe this idea of stability and familiarity is overblown but it definitely accounts for something.

at this point, i don't want to do anything. If they sign a minimum guy or whatever fine. Don't stretch Asik.

If a trade for an all star presents itself at the trade deadline, do it, if not, wait it out.

As i've said before, we aren't winning anything this year, and we aren't winning anything next year, and no one else is either outside of the Warriors.
We should be planning for the beginning of the 2020 season, and that plan to better the team by then should be conveyed to both AD and Cousins. The Warriors will fall lose pieces by then b/c of the tax. Lebron will be old. The Rockets will have failed with CP3 and Melo. There will finally be a season where we won't know what the finals matchup and winner will be before the season starts.

We can make the playoffs this year, and we should. I still dont' like Gentry as a head coach, but I think he's surrounded himself with really good talent for assistant coaches, and he lets them coach. There's no reason for a team with 2 supposed top 15 players, one in their prime, while the other is about to be, to not make the playoffs. A core of Jrue/AD/Cousins is better than Conley/ZBo/Gasol, and those cats have made the playoffs 7 years in a row with 3 different coaches.

make the playoffs, gel as a team, and go into the offseason next year with some momentum and your picks. At this point Asik only has $14M gauranteed, so it's easier to trade and/or stretch him, but i'd rather keep him. QPon comes off the books and all your left with is Ajinca, Solo and Moore and minimums. Extend Cousins, draft a guy in the 1st and 2nd round, if you haven't traded those picks for an ALLSTAR. Don't trade those picks unless it's for THE guy.

Go into 2019 with AD/Cousins/Jrue ready to go, Moore and Solo, Diallo and Jackson improving and contributing, and some minimum guys to go with Ajinca and Asik. When the trade deadline comes around in 2019, you'll have assets in the pick you just made, Diallo, your 2020 pick, and Asik having so little guaranteed for the next year but a big salary number to make trades easy. Some big time player will be pissed somewhere, and you'll have some assets to go get him, and even if you don't do anything at the trade deadline, you'll have the ability again at the end of the year to look at those trades again.

We aren't signing a FA that will be the missing piece. We either need to draft him, or trade for him, unless we find a way to trade Jrue for some expirings at some point in the next 3 years, which i doubt.

If we want to be a championship team, that's the way. Doesn't need to be this year, or next year. If we can't find that special trade before the 2020 season starts, or get extremely lucky with a draft pick, then we are doomed for good.

I think I agree. We can probably get 1-2 veterans on a minimum deal to help (maybe Lawson and Afflalo or Barnes or a big like Hamilton). I am not keen on trading a #1 for someone like Lin. That #1 could come in handy later.

Now that Pels Talk has seemingly come to a consensus of not making any trades, Dell is surely on the phone cooking one up to throw us into a tailspin. He's always watching. Waiting.

Got it. And I agree I think Boogie and AD can pretty much match up with any lineup. I just worry about the match up elsewhere with the exception of Jrue and Solo (sometimes even with Solo)

Not that it's major news, but the Nuggets waived Mike Miller.

How is his health holding up?

3 and D guys on their last legs may be a cheap way to plug holes, as I figure he would be on a veteran minimum or close to it.

He was only scheduled to make $3.5m before he was cut.
