How much do you all think Anthony Morrow is going to get?

bare minimum. He is easily one of the worst defenders in all of the NBA.
If he was even remotely worth a shite, OKC wouldn't have traded him, being that they were the worst 3 point shooting team in the league and thought he brought nothing to them. He hasn't even been shooting that well the last 2 years. He had 2 really good years, then the last 2 years he's been very underwhelming, even as strictly a shooter off the bench.

yeah. i mean, i get it from the Pels perspective. they need to keep Cousins. they dont have time to waste. years of poor management and bad luck have led them this spot where they have to make moves for less than ideal players.
i just seriously doubt this deal would work out well.... which, to be fair, is probably the way things would go w/o the trade anyway.
for me, again, it comes back to the idea of changing things up. Reggie Jackson is a pure high PnR point guard who needs the ball in his hands to be effective. Pels need a guy that can create, but the two best players arent going to be maximized in an offense that runs high PnR after high PnR. would be disappointing to me for them to run something like that w/ Davis+Cousins
ETA- id be a lot more into it if they hadnt just signed Holiday for 5/$126 to then become a 3 and D guard

We are still going to be primarily a PNR team as per Gentry. Finch is brought in to add wrinkles to the offense and maximize talents of the players. I think they can do so with Jackson too. If not and it isn't working, then he can come off the bench and run PnR with AD when Jrue and Boogie get a break. The only negatives would be possibly locker room chemistry and losing Moore. I think you are overrating Moore's shooting and we can bring in someone else with the rest of the MLE plus still have our 18 1st. The downside is so small this year that it makes sense to gamble. Also if he shows more of the Reggie from 2 years ago on a under $20M deal locked up for 2 years he could be moved next summer.
ETA - I get the apprehension and know the odds are he does not work out, but you aren't giving up any real assets to get him and I assume if this leaked and it goes through that Bledsoe wasn't a real possibility.

The sample size was very small, but one of the few things Jackson did well last year was the Handoff where he was in the 94th percentile and that will be a growing part of the offense. If you can give him some things to do that he's good at within the flow of the offense, maybe he'll be less likely to go all hero ball and break the offense.
One thing I think we can agree on is that if they do manage to win the perceived value of the players on the roster will go up around the league. AD doing what he did a few years ago on a top 4 team is the MVP instead of a player putting up stats on a bad team, that's just how it works. So if the team did manage to have a good season and Jackson was healthy and productive, he might even become a positive trade asset. Fisher talked about Jackson being a better trade piece than Jrue when the time comes for John Wall demands a trade to the Pels and if Jackson does return to form and I agree. They might be able to build a Wall trade package around Jackson, young player and future picks.

right. but how you get into those sets and what you do around them is the question. is it stagnant, high PnR or more flowing PnR from all over the court? we have seen a lot of stagnant high PnR even under Gentry. i dont think that will work well w/ Cousins/Davis
quote:
he can come off the bench
so this is where i think the problems are for this team in the abstract. are the stars happy seeing less shots? seeing less time on the ball? not having the offense run through them?
questions are already there w/ Davis, Cousins, Holiday. add another guy in Jackson, who is used to running the show and controlling the ball, and things get very tricky.
i hear you on Moore, but the issue still remains; the Pels havent added any shooting to this roster. Cousins is probably the best 3PT shooter on the team. that is problematic

yeah. i would like this a lot more if Holiday hadnt just signed his big pay day

Wonder if we could slide Asik in that deal for nothing but a 2nd Rounder?

Bill Simmons is an idiot and you shouldn't listen to a word he says.

I think the question to answer there is why does Teletovic only play 16 MPG? Teletovic played the most minutes with Monroe, so I'm guessing a stretch 4 is something they see as a lower usage bench role and they'd have a need to pay twice as much for Ryno.

I don't think he is going to clear waivers:
