He destroyed the franchise the day he tried to turn this team into Duke-lite to compete from day 1 and brought his family feel roster over talent philosophy here.
We've missed out on so much talent in the draft because they only wanted drama free high character guys who will tow the company line.

Yeah but what can we do? Ownership are not basketball people so they have to rely on people that are. the alternative is not having a team.
Hire a better search firm this time, and choose a better person from the list they give you.
I'm trying to find some positivity and optimism, but it just continues to get harder and harder when it feels like we are like a Groundhogs Day franchise, just repeating the same mistakes over and over at every level of the team, from ownership decisions on down to our seeming perpetual inability to be healthy and synergized to start seasons.

I was just reading Jake Fischer's article on up and coming POBO/GM execs from September.
A lot of the usual names were mentioned (Webster, Zarren, etc).
One name towards the end stuck out:
Austin Brown. Zion's agent.

Worse is that like everything with Griff, that shite was such blustery bullshite.
Since it turns out he is a snakish, micromanaging control freak that has zero loyalty unless that loyalty serves his ego, and will throw you under the bus and talk shite behind your back at the drop of a hat.

I'm open to it, but that more has to do with I'm open to being open.
Cast a wide net and think outside the box would be what I hope we do.
I really hated when the smoke cleared that all we seemed to be looking at last time were resume stuffed retreads.
Though part of my gut tells me ownership might just let Griff slip by, or worse, once again fire off someone like Trajan and blameshift onto him

If you can't beat them, join them. If they are truly behind the scenes working the Zion to NY narrative, maybe they can use their power to guide a star to the Pels.

It just stuck out to me because the article was written before the season and he was one of only maybe 3 agents mentioned, and there does seem to be a small trend towards hiring agents right now.
Webster would be my #1 choice as well but I doubt he would even want this job. He will likely hold out for the Raptors job if Masai leaves at some point in the future, or a bigger market "better" job. Seems too smart to want to take on this dumpster fire.

I tend to agree, though I do think the autonomy of this organization, the freedom and trust ownership gives you, up to and including to a fault, and the remaining assets(assuming Griff doesn’t burn through them) should still make the job pretty appealing.
Webster is like my pipe dream, but realistically I think it’s not very realistic.
I’m just crossing my fingers we do a thorough job and really think outside the box this time

Reality is Lonzos value for pretty much ANY other team is higher than it was on the Pels because he might actually want to be there and ergo he might actually TRY
Lonzo completely rebuilt his shot in New Orleans, he most certainly put in effort here.

I'm usually really slow to jump on the "Fire Person X" train and I've been on the fence about Griffin for a while. For the first time, I'm officially IN.
I'm not ready for a wholesale teardown quite yet though. Fire Griff now and let Trajan cook. See how he handles the trade market and see what the general mood in the building becomes when he's in charge.

"big Griffin defender"? Maybe giving him a shot and the benefit of the doubt after only 1 year.
He's now had 3 years. He has failed.
That's how this works. You accumulate data.

NARRATOR:
"And now, we come to the point in the program where all of the nega-Pels pretend that they are so much smarter than anyone who actually dared to hope for their team's success."

After the Adams trade I knew it was time for him to go. It’s been bad decision after bad decision. Crazy how he has screwed up this franchise in short order.

I’ve been a Griff defender. And still don’t think everything that has gone wrong falls on him.
But at this point im just exhausted because hes all everyone talks about. So…whatever.

when you’re in year three of Zion.
This is such a tired trope. He’s been healthy for ONE year. And the reason we’re the worst team in the league is because he can’t play.

This team should be better than 1-11 without him after 3 years of rebuilding.
Griffin hasn’t hit on a single draft pick capable of taking it to the next level.
We just suck.

Right.
Zion being injured has nothing to do with the rest of the roster being absolute dogshit.
