They should? Why? Just because you type out they should doesn’t mean that’s the case.

Lakers have been losing left and right with Lebron and they have 3 other HOFs on the floor. Remind me why they’re not catching slander. Oh yeah, LA.

‘We should be good without Zion”. Like say that out loud man. What are we doing here.

The lakers have 7 wins. Are currently the 7 seed.

We have 1. One fricking win. We were 1-5 with BI and Herb.

No one thinks we should be "good" without Zion.

But we shouldn't be the very worst team in the entire league.

I’d love to know what teams records were post getting the #1 pick. I can’t imagine it’s stellar the very next or following year.

Especially when the only reason they were good before that is because of another #1 pick but then decided to leave.

So actually….it kinda seems like that’s how things should be going. #1 pick. Ok surrounding cast. When he’s injured they’re terrible. I don’t know…that’s starting to sound pretty familiar.

We've been wanting the young guys to play to see what they got.

The problem is we did, they don't have much. Herb Jones is the only one showing out so far. Naw and Jax haven't even proved their rotation players 2+ years into their careers, and Kira shouldn't be anywhere near the court at this point.

Other than the obvious benefits of having Zion/BI on the court, it would also allow us to get 2 shitty players who shouldn't be playing out of the rotation.

So….where they SHOULD be playing? As opposed to getting forced into bigger roles like they are now?

It’s almost like 20 something year olds may need a minute grow their game or mature into bigger roles. But you’re right I’m sure all these guys are as good as they’ll ever be.

Yea, that's the point.

Ok, no clue what you're talking about.

If you're arguing that dudes in year 3 who still don't look like rotational players magically get better all the time and there's nothing to worry about, I'll go ahead and disagree. It would be the exception, not the norm.

Only dudes in “year 3” are Zion, NAW, and Hayes.

Zion can’t ever stay healthy, which is why we’re here. And again, has played one healthy season.

NAW averaged 20/start last year and is a first time starter this year. I was very high on him and he hasn’t delivered yet. He’s the most overall talented guard we have and I can tell is still adjusting to full time starter. He just put up 31, yes against OKC, so we’ll see. There’s a reason Antonio Daniels praises his skill set just about every chance he gets.

Hayes isnt there yet but hes shown flashes but I’m fine with him as backup C.

Kira came in with no offseason, couldn’t practice all year, and SVG wanted nothing to do with developing young guys.

Trey and Herb just got here.

So basically your main gripes are against a first time starting G and the backup C? Neither of them are the only reason we’re 1-11.

And NAW and Hayes are a HUGE reason why we are 1-11 without Zion and partially BI.

If you can't prove to be a rotational player 3 years into year 3, time is running out, especially to do so as a Pel. These types of dudes on this timeline, if they figure it out and can be a rotational player it's generally with their next team on their 2nd contract

They are a part of that reason, obviously. I'm not sure why you want to completely excuse them, which you are doing. That doesn't really make sense to me.

If a player isn’t good in year 3, he will never be good for the team that drafted him.

That is 100% reality.

Hayes is a backup C.
NAW is a first time starter.

We’re 12 games into the third season.

They’re not the reason we have 1 win.

Hayes is a backup C.
And not a good or even average one

They're part of the reason, certainly.

Based on history, the most likely outcome for both is they're either never going to be average players or they'll do so for a different team, that doesn't concern you in the least?

I mean they pretty much are.

You traded the 4th pick for them and they are in their 3rd year. Them being sucky is a pretty direct correspondence to us being sucky.

If they look like this in the roles that they are expected to actually fill, sure.

But I’m not giving them even equal the blame that I do for the two starters averaging 50 pts a game for us not on the court.

They are expected to fill roles because they aren’t good enough to be better than “filling a role”.

When picking 4th you’re looking for a little better than “may fill a small role in year 3”.

would Jax not be playing backup C even if we were healthy?

This is different than you giving them zero blame. So I'd ask are you giving them zero blame or not equal blame?
